Satine and Peter wake early in the morning to the cries coming from the crib. They would give anything to silence those whaling noises, but at the same time, they can't help loving hearing it. Even though it's insanely annoying.

Peter takes his turn to get himself out of bed and pull Anastasia to his chest after placing her pacifier in her mouth. Satine rubs her face and rolls to her side to push her hand under her pillow and watch them. He calms her down, rocking and bouncing her gently in his arms, and checks her diaper to thankfully find nothing for him to change.

He crawls back into bed and lays Anastasia on her back between them. He leans up on his elbow as she rolls to her front and sits up while continuing to suck on her pacifier. She places her hand on Satines chest, causing her to slowly smile.

"She's so beautiful." She runs her nails through her short hairs to brush them out of her face.

"She looks like you." He smiles softly and she gives him a slightly doubting look, still grinning. "Baby, I'm serious." He chuckles. "She has yours eyes and your little button nose. You both have freckles and your brunettes under your black hair." He folds her hair behind her ear. "How would a stranger even tell you didn't birth her?" He shrugs and she chuckles while looking into her big eyes.

"Maybe a little bit." She grins, still in slight denial, but that quickly turns to joy as Anastasia smiles at her.

"She has your smile." He jokes while grazing his hand up and down her arm and she laughs softly.

"If I smiled like that, it's be the end of you." She chuckles and he smiles.

"You got me a long time ago." He brushes his thumb over her cheekbone and she adjusts her head to be closer as Anastasia crawls onto her knees, holding herself up on Satine's hip. "I'll die happy with you."

He leans in to press his lips to hers and dips into the mattress and Anastasia falls back on her butt. They pull apart and slowly smile with small laughs and she crawls closer to them.

Satine carries the baby monitor around with her everywhere she goes. Even when she knows that Anastasia is in good hands, she's not alone, and there's people around to calm her crying, if she isn't in the room as well, the monitor is on her at all times.

That doesn't change when Peter, the one she trusts the most, is the only one with Anastasia. But this time, it isn't for some sort of protection, she just loves to watch these two interact with each other from her seat on the corner cushion of the couch.

He tosses her diaper into the "nasty trash", the designated disposal for the poop pouches, and pulls her arms and legs back through her onesie. He leans down to press a kiss to her cheek before he lifts her to her feet in front of him, making Satine slowly grins.

She's unable to hear what he says to her as he makes her smile. She wishes she could, but she had to put it on mute for Peter's sake. Understandable. But whatever he's saying seems to be doing wonders, seeing as she's clearly laughing as she bounces her toes off of the cushion below her while he laughs brightly at her. Clearly, she chose a good man to spend the rest of her life with. No doubt.

Barely a few hours later, Satine is seated calmly in the same spot she was before, though this time she has a book in her lap. Another gift from Yelena, this one is from her native land, Russia. She hasn't had a book like this in a long time and she's very grateful for the easy read. Yes, she's been in America for a long time, but still, certain things are lost to her. A majority of those things are bigger words that would be found in English literature. And, she doesn't want to bother someone with questions every time she's confused and Yelena knew this, so another gift it is.
