The second day at their new home, they immediately realize that they have to go grocery shopping, which, honestly, they've never seriously done before. Living at the compound, there would be someone that would deliver the needs, in order for the Avengers to keep themselves and the citizens safe from any sort of attackers that could find the pattern and be waiting for them the next time they decided to make an appearance.

But not anymore for two of the spider people and their baby. From now on, they're on their own. They're also getting paid by Tony every once in a while to do nothing, besides perhaps doing a few good deeds here and there.

So they drive to the nearest large and popular grocery store and steal one of the carts that was left abandoned by a careless user in an empty parking spot. Peter sticks Anya in the basket and they head on into the store, but not before Anya points out the large selection of greenery that sits scattered in little tubs outside of the building.

Excitedly, she calls out to her parents while points to the flowers and leaves and they look at each other with small smiles, though they don't hand her one. They don't want to make the mistake of giving it to her, just so she can reveal the fact that she can make plants grow with her mind to the entire world. So they walk right past and go inside and Anya slowly moves on and forgets.

Peter has headed off to find a certain brand of bread while Satine makes her way through the snack aisle for Anya. As she leans a big to place the fruit snacks in the basket, she hears a high-pitched whistle, causing her to turn with furrowed brows. That is, until they relax as the man slows to a stop with a growing smile.

"Satine." Flash, of all people, smirks and she sighs quietly while looking up at the ceiling. "How ya' been?" He steps a bit closer in his black hoodie, looking fairly dishevled.

"I've been fine, Eugene, you?" She holds onto the cart and stares at him with zero liking behind her eyes.

"Whose kid is that?" He nods towards her and she tilts her head a bit.

"My husbands." She states surely and he looks at her through his lashes.

"And, who's that?"

"Me."

Peter tosses the bread into the basket before coming to her side as that smile grows even more.

"Oh, no way." He chuckles. "I really thought you'd move on from this loser." He throws his arm and Peter grins a bit while licking his lips, annoyed. "Come on, you actually married this guy?"

"There's a reason you weren't invited." She grins.

"And, you had a kid with him." He points to Anya as she looks between the three, not feeling like she's in a very good situation right now, while Satine watches how close his finger is to her. "You actually had sex with him."

"I don't think that's any of your business." Peter shrugs surely and he tilts his head.

"She doesn't even look like you." He tosses his hand and Peter inches a bit closer, being that he's still too close to her for their comfort. "What, did you cheat on him or something?" He chuckles.

"She was adopted, moron." She states in monotone with a tired blink. "Wasn't able to make a kid."

"Oh, ha, that's perfect." He claps.

"Yeah, not funny." Peter shakes his head with furrowed brows, using the firm voice that's been in hybernation for a long time. "Do not laugh at that."

"Oh, that's not funny, Penis?" His brows raise. "You don't want me to laugh at your little dysfunction?"

"God, you haven't matured at all." He chuckles. "Not a single part of you has grown the hell up, has it?" He waves his hand.

"Oh, what? You think you're a big man now?" He steps up to him. "'Cause you got married to that, you've got a kid now? A big happy family? Is that it?"

"Because I grew the fuck up, unlike some people that never had to, because their parents gave them everything they ever wanted." He shakes his head.

"You know what?" He smiles. "Hit me."

"I'm not gonna hit you." He grimaces in confusion.

"No, come on, hit me like you did Junior year." He hits his own chest.

Satine chuckles at the good memory while playing with Anya's hair, though Anya keeps her nervous attention on the threatening nature of the man, who, as far as she knows, just wants to hurt her dad.

"You're still stuck on that?" Peter nods with raised brows and a chuckle. "That was nine years ago, Dude, get over it."

He turns away and it doesn't anywhere near as least two seconds for that force of testosterone to kick in before Eugene is throwing punches. But he doesn't even land the first one because Satine grabs his fist and grips tight as she moves closer, gaining a groan in return.

"Absolutely not." She grits. "If you're going to act like a child, I'm going to treat you like one. And, if you want to be stuck in the past of your popular days, the days that you actually mattered, then by all means, stay there." She glares daggers as Peter lifts a scared Anya into his arms. "But if you think for a second that I'm going to let you do a damn thing to my family, you're wrong. And, you know, back then I was just annoyed with you for being a little bitch, but now I just pity you." She nods sideways, somewhat breathier in her firm tone, as he tries to hold back the pain and release himself, staring fearfully up into her eyes. "The real world fimally hit you, huh?" She grins a fake grin. "It hit you hard. Your varsity days are over, 'Flash.' Get a grip of yourself before you lose ever chance in yourself to try. And, don't think of this as a threat." She shrugs kindly. "See it as motivation. And, think of it for the rest of your life."

She drops her hold and he stumbles back, almost dropping to the floor, as he craddles his wrist and looks around at all the staring eyes and their cameras. He hurries away as soon as he gets his footing and she swings around to take Anya from Peter's smiling self, in order to comfort the scared little being on her shoulder.

Peter looks at the watchers for a moment as he places his hands on her cheeks before he turns back to her. He brushes her hair out of face and leans in to press his lips to her forehead as she closes her eyes.

"Okay." He whispers as she turns slightly into his palm. "Are we breathing now?" He asks and she nods a bit. "Good."

He backs up a bit and she opens her eyes to look up at the grin fighting to fill his face. She shakes her head at him while grazing his lips with her thumb and he chuckles while itching behind his ear. She just barely smiles and turns her attention onto Anya as she lifts her head off of her shoulder.

"Are you okay?" She asks softly and she nods a bit. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. But we have to stop the bad guys. Protect your daddy from the mean bully at all costs." She smirks and he smiles. "Right?"

"Mhmm." She nods.

"Yeah." She chuckles while looking up at him. "Fuck the bullies."

"Fuck bullies." She mumbles without a clue and his eyes go wide as Satine quickly covers the little girls mouth with a shocked grin, only they can't hold back their laugh.

Later on in the evening, when the sun is still up, after the groceries have been brought home and put into their new cabinets, while Satine calculated the best areas for the stuff while Peter waited patiently for instructions with a smile on his face, he and Anya are lying down on the new couch. Both lie fast asleep under a blanket with her on his chest and his head on a pillow. Meanwhile, Satine sits wide awake with the TV on a low volume, playing the end of a movie of Anya's choice.

When it ends, Satine looks up from her phone and turns to see the two as they are and slowly smiles. Quickly before anything can change this, she stands as silently as she can and takes a plethura a pictures, just to make sure she's able to get the right one. She steals the remote and sits back down to turn it onto her horror with a smile.
