"Psst, Ally!" I hissed at the beautiful brunette who'd been watching Cameron with the deepest loathing evident on her face.
Ally started slightly but then turned to face me and followed me into the "haunted maze" as I motioned to her.
"Wheres Shawn?" She asked and then upon looking around she added, "and Nash?"
"I don't know, I lost them. Allison, I don't know what to do, they keep fighting over who's better than who." I complained.
"So, you have two boys who like you, that you like back, arguing over which one likes you more?"
                              I nodded my response.
"I'm failing to see the crisis here." She stated, examining the fake blood splatters plastered on the walls.
"I don't know what to do that won't let either of them down!" I wailed throwing my arms in the air.
"Just go with the one you like more."
                              "Which is who?"
"How am I supposed to know?" she asked me, sounding a little annoyed. "I have a huger problem though so I can't think about your minor ones right now."
                              "Huger?"
"Yes! Did you not see Cameron lip-locking with little miss ugly back there? Or were you too busy being the butter in a Nash and Shawn sandwich?" she snapped.
                              "Ouch."
"Sorry," she muttered, "I hate boys."
"Me too. But honestly, Al, if he can't see what he's missing without you, he can't be worth it." I told her, taking her hand and squeezing it.
She smiled at me, but it didn't reach her eyes, "I wish I could believe you." she told me.
Before I could reply, a huge thump and crash sounded behind me followed by a 'sorry', 'oops', and 'sh yourself' before Nash popped his head through some dark curtains and offering us a winning smile.
"Sup girlies." he said, still grinning from ear to ear.
"Nothing, I'm just going now." Ally told him, turning in the opposite direction.
"Ally, I thought you were going on the ferris wheel with me?" I groaned.
"No can do, sorry sunshine, I already promised Matt I would ride it with him." She explained with a shrug.
"Millie, I was just about to ask you if you wanted to go in the Ferris Wheel with me anyway, so we can go together!" Nash told me excitedly.
Great. I can't tell him I don't want to after just asking Allison too... Why do I always have to open my stupid mouth?
Instead of responding, I let him drag me to the queue - which was more of a gate that you walked straight through and sat down - and sat down next to him on a small metal chair with nothing but a bar holding us in place.
I sighed and looked in the opposite direction to Nash, which just so happened to be directly at Shawn who was rigid with obvious irritation.
                              'I'm sorry.' I mouthed.
Shawn stared at me, his body language screaming with barely concealed anger. Then the Ferris wheel began its cycle of hauling the seats upwards, all the while Shawns eyes stayed glued to mine with his face scratched into a look of the deepest betrayal until we were too high to see one another.
"Isn't this great?" Nash asked, swinging his legs around in midair as we stopped again about a quarter of the way round the Ferris wheel so other people could join.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked quietly, looking around at him but moving my body away at the same instant.
"Doing what?" He replied, eyeing the space I'd just made between us.
"You're trying to make Shawn angry at something and I don't know why, but I also don't want to be in the middle of it."
Nash looked away from me and towards the car park, he was silent for a few minutes before he said simply, "I'm not trying to upset Shawn, Amelia."
"Then what are you trying to do because all I know if that Shawn brought me here on a date and I've barely spent any time with him and now you're here and he looks like he's gonna murder someone!" I told him, scowling.
                              "Stop being so dramatic."
"Don't tell me what to do!" I screeched, my voice getting shriller with every syllable, "do you know what? Forget it. I don't wanna be here, so when I get of this stupid ride, I'm going to apologise to Shawn and spend the rest of the night with him with no interruption from you, okay?"
Nash pursed his lips in frustration as he glared at me, his jaw twitching as if he wanted to say more but couldn't.
I crossed my arms over my chest and looked straight ahead to avoid his eyes, but I could still feel his eyes burning holes in the side of my face.
We reached the space before the top of the Ferris Wheel when Nash apparently decided that he couldn't hold it in anymore.
"The problem is, Amelia, I don't want you to date Shawn, okay? I don't want to see you laughing with him or holding hands with him or blushing when he compliments you and if I ever saw him kissing you..." He closed his eyes as if trying to push the thought away. "I can't explain it. I just... It should be me doing all those things, not him. He'll only use you and hurt you. Shawn hates me being with you because he knows how much I want you, he enjoys rubbing my face in the fact that I don't have you and he talks about all the things he's gonna do with you, things I'll never be able to do and it kills me."
I looked at him with utter disbelief. He wants me? But he hated me just yesterday! I couldn't believe the words that had just spilled from his mouth and I sat there in silence, staring at him.
He must've taken my silence badly before his face slowing set into a collection of hard lines and thick jealously worked its way onto his features.
"But of course you only see me as a bad guy." He continued, "I bet you think I'm just doing this because I'm mad a Shawn, don't you? I don't think you ever really believed how much I loved you." He looked ahead again, pain replacing his momentary anger. He opened his mouth to say more but then closed it before any words came out.
I was still silent. I told myself to move, to say something. But nothing happened.
We rode to the top of the Ferris wheel, me staring at him in silence and him looking away from me.
We were a stop away from the bottom of the ride when Nash finally looked at me again.
"Nash.." I said, but I was interrupted when his lips were suddenly on mine.
For a moment, time stopped. I forgot about Shawn and my date and my problems and the fair and the word around me, all that mattered was me and Nash.
Our lips moved together the same way they used to when we kissed, yet it seemed new and wonderful still. It was like we had been taken back in time to the first time he'd kissed me, before it all went wrong.
Too soon it was over, he pulled away, breathing heavily. Our chair was moving again, the ground edging closer and threatening to end my time with Nash which I now so desperately wanted.
"I'm sorry." He said, "if you don't want to see me again, just forget about that, I won't tell anyone. But if you do want to see me again, meet me at the park we took Sky to on Friday at 4." And with that our seat reached the floor and Nash jumped out, turned away from me and walked away, without ever looking back.
