School on Monday was the most boring thing in the world.
After telling Ally everything that happened with Nash and Shawn and her telling me everything that happened with Cameron and her - which was basically just screaming at each other for the same reasons - we just wanted to get away and not have to deal with everything.
We decided to try go somewhere this weekend so we could just relax, but everywhere was so expensive and it was still like five days before we could do it anyway.
So, here I was again; trudging through the school hallways and avoiding the majority of people I crossed paths with.
I was headed to Life Skills again, I walked in with my bag swinging from my shoulder as John waited at the door, tapping his pen on his folder impatiently as he did so.
"Late." He informed me, but then let me go as the new teacher came past and he started talking to her and trying to act all superior.
He's not even a real teacher.
"Amelia!" Squealed a blonde girl, rocking back and forth on the chair Nash usually sat on.
"Hey, girl I don't know." I said smiling as I sat down beside her.
"Sorry, I'm Ashley. Cousin of Ally, friend of Johnson. I just heard loads about you so that's how I knew who you are. I'm not a stalker I swear." She gave me a huge grin and held out her hand for me to shake, which I took.
"Oh,I've heard about you." I told her, examining her features, she was a little smaller than me with glossy sandy brown hair. She resembled Ally, but just barely and I couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was that reminded me of her.
"Only good things I hope."
"Well Jack definitely had some good things to say." I replied.
"Oh thank god. I thought I scared him away because of all my talking. I was literally like blah blah blah blah blah and he didn't tell me shut up so I just carried on and I don't even know what I was talking about, he just made me feel all nervous which never usually happened with anyone so I just babbled on and on..." Her voice trailered off and she gave me a shy smile, "kind of like what I'm doing now."
"Amelia, would you like to share what you were discussing with Ashley to the class please?" John called from the front, jeez, he was in a foul mood today.
"We were just answering the question." Ashley told him quickly.
"That's funny, I don't recall asking a question." John replied, raising his eyebrows at us.
Ashley opened her mouth to say something but apparently couldn't think of anything good, so she closed her mouth again.
"I remember sir, you asked if you should date someone if you loved a different person." Nash helped, not looking at anyone but John as he spoke.
Ashley and I nodded in unison.
"Fine." John barked, glaring at Nash, "what was your answer? Amelia this time please."
Why did the questions I answer always have to be so relatable?
"I don't think you should date someone when you love another." I said, the words spilling out like poison.
"Why not?" John pushed.
"Because it's unfair on the person that you don't love, their wasting their time on something they'll never have." I said, my cheeks burning and tears stinging my eyes.
Wasn't this exactly what I was doing to Shawn?
"Good answer. Okay, so what about Romeo and Juliet people? Did they..." His voice became background noise as I started thinking about Shawn.
