Ally was silent the entire way through my story, only when I spoke about what Cam said did she let out a little squeal before retiring to silence.
"Wow, that sounds way more interesting than my night and my night was pretty fabulous as well!" She told me, as soon as I'd stopped talking.
"Mmm, extremely embarrassing and awkward though."
"True, especially Nash shutting the door in you face, that was pretty rude. No luck in that department then I take it?" She asked.
                              "Nope. You know what?"
                              "What?"
"I don't even think I want to get back with him anymore. I mean, he's being such a douche and it's obvious he doesn't wanna date me anymore, so why should I even try? I should just date Shawn. He's sweet and seems to like me." I stated, resting the phone between my shoulder and ear as I tried to cut up some fruit to eat.
"Well, I would be all for it, especially because I agree with almost everything, but I also knew Nash before you, so I know that the way he's acting isn't normal. Like, even before you came to America he was a nice boy, I think he's just hurt. Plus, I think Cam's right, he's probably just lying to himself about not liking you anymore to try and convince both himself, you and the rest of the world that he doesn't like you anymore." Ally evaluated, sounding all wise and stuff.
"Have you made it your life mission to make my life complicated?" I asked sarcastically, "couldn't you have just been like 'sure, Amelia, date Shawn, he's a great guy!' Instead of putting new ideas in my head and creating mini war between fighting for Nash and moving on?"
Ally laughed, "Jeez, you're so dramatic, Aimee. I just didn't want you rushing into Shawn because you're trying to make yourself feel better."
"Did you just call me self-centred, irrational and insecure?" I asked, biting into my apple.
                              "Basically."
                              "Ouch."
"What's the point in being best friends if we can't be honest? And I would be exactly the same if I were you anyways, so I'm not judging. I'm just trying to put things into perspective." She explained.
                              "Ah, I see." I replied.
"Can I sleep now? Because you kinda woke me up in the middle of the night for all this drama and I would appreciate being able to dwell on the fact that Cameron Dallas still loves me."
"He didn't technically say that." I reminded her.
"He did in my dream," she told me which made me smile, "goodnight baby G!"
"Adios." I replied before hanging up and plodding back to bed with boy thoughts muddling up my mind.
                              ***Monday****
Do you know what I don't understand?
I don't understand how teachers can say things like 'teenagers shouldn't be stressed' or 'you should get ten hours of sleep every night' and 'you should take part in extra curricular activities' but then prescribe us ten million pieces of homework due in the next day and then they think 'nope, that's not stressful enough for them, I know, let's throw in at least five tests on things they haven't learnt yet!'. This just doesn't make sense to me.
Today had been one of those days for me.
It seemed like God was trying to punish me for some unknown reason and using the teachers to do it.
However, the school day was over and I had nothing better to do (other than homework, but I was planning to ignore that until at least 12am) then to go on a jog around the woods.
I changed quickly into running gear and headed out with my earphones in and a water bottle in my hand.
I must've been running for at least forty minutes before I decided to turn around and head home again, however, upon changing direction, I came crashing to the ground after getting my foot caught on an abandoned teddy bear.
I was so confused by the magically appearing teddy situation that I had a mini heart attack when a small figure came bursting through the foliage screaming, "You hurt him! Why did you do that for?"
The little girl scooped up the toy and crushed it against her tiny chest.
"Sky?" I asked, completely bewildered by why the youngest Grier was wandering around the woods by herself, "What are you doing here?"
"I was playing in my house and someone left the front door open so I went to tell them that they left the front door open but then I forgot to tell whoever left the front door open that the front door was open because I saw some pretty flowers but then I kept seeing more pretty flowers so I kept walking and finding more and more beautiful flowers and then I couldn't find home anymore!" Sky said quickly, looking up at me with her big brown eyes, "Will you help me please, Melie?"
"Sure I will, who was looking after you?" I asked, crouching down in front of her.
That was when Nash burst through the woodland, tripped and landed on a heap beside me.
"Sky! There you are!" Nash observed looking noticeably relieved, "I can't believe you ran of like that! I could've lost you and then what would've happened? You know not to leave the house without someone older and it wasn't like I was far away, I was just putting the rubbish outside and I thought-" he stopped and looked up at me as if he'd only just noticed I was there, "Amelia." He said, more as a statement then a greeting, I waved my hand as a reply anyway.
"Er, thank you, for looker after her I mean." He was running his hand through his dark mop of hair and looking around as if he was about to be told of.
                              "No problem."
There was an awkward silence between us that seemed to last centuries before Sky shattered the quiet by squealing "Nash! Can we go to the park? Please? I haven't been for ages!"
"Okay, just say goodbye to Amelia and say thanks and then we'll go, deal?" Nash told her in his best 'grown-up' voice that he saved just for her.
"What? But I want Melie to come with us!" Sky complained shaking her fluffy blonde hair and hugging my leg in protest.
"But Amelia probably doesn't want to come to a little kiddie park."
"Why do you call her Amelia now? You didn't use to." Asked Sky.
I quickly changed the subject back before things got even more uncomfortable, "Well, I would love to come to the park with you guys if you want me to. Ice creams on me?"
Sky did a quick 'yippe!' Before skipping off ahead.
Nash just raised his eyebrows at me but said nothing and we walked off side by side towards the park.
