"I'M JUST SAYING THAT IT COULD BE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU," Evelyn said. Jim stared back at her, head propped up with his elbow. His fingers drew shapes against her sheet clad hip. "I'm not saying you should do it, but maybe you should consider it. It's better pay, you're out of Scranton.."

"And an hour away from you," he added with a slight frown. Evelyn sighed. She slipped her palm against his cheek. Fingers toyed with the strands of hair that hung over his ears. "An hour away isn't that bad," she whispered. Her fingers slipped into his hair, strands tangling between them. She used her new position to pull his face toward hers and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. "I'll come to visit. Every weekend, if I can. And there's Skype."

His fingers moved from her hip to the small of her back. His warmth speared through her like hot fire. "I don't know, Evie. I'm happy where I am." Her throat tensed. He's happy. Why couldn't she believe him? Why did it sound so impossible for him to be happy at Dunder Mifflin? With her? "I get to see you every day. And there's Pam.. Kevin. Dwight." She tried to smile. He had friends there. He was close with everyone in the same way she was. "You can't stand Dwight," she exhaled in a heavy sigh.

"I.. I like Dwight," he argued softly. The corners of his mouth smiled. His eyes sparkled in the dim light of her bedroom. His cheeks flushed and hair messy. She wanted nothing more than to just enjoy him like this. To hold him, kiss him.. and love him. "Jim." His name escaped her lips in a sigh. Her heart swelled with emotions for him. Intense emotions. His palm pressed to her skin, drawing her body that much closer to him. "Evelyn," he replied sweetly, an air of humor to it that left her smiling back at him.

She watched his face for a moment. Taking him in like an oil painting. Like she could capture this very moment in her mind like a camera. "If you asked me to go with you, I would. I'd follow you anywhere." Her words struck him deep. His smile faltered. Heart stammered inside of him. He nodded, head rubbing against her cotton pillow cases. His thumb trailed the direction of her spine. His touch left goosebumps against her skin.

He stared back at her. Amazed. Surprised. He wasn't sure what was filling him like warm foam. His eyes shifted to her lips. "I love you," he whispered. Her breath caught in her throat as he crossed the distance. Hovered over her slightly, their mouths pressed in an intensely soft kiss. Her grip on his hair tensed. His arm tight around her waist. Their breaths mingled. Their heartbeats synchronized.

I love you.

She gasped softly. Her head fell back onto her pillow, eyes now wide. "Jim," she blurted out in pure surprise. His lips stretched into a lopsided grin. "Did you just—?" Was he trying to change the subject on her? He chuckled. Her reaction wasn't entirely what he expected, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. He nodded, floppy hair falling into his eyes. She couldn't stop herself from reaching up and brushing it away. "I did," he answered. "And I meant it. Evelyn, I love you. I know we've said it before, but I don't think once is enough. I don't think a millions times is enough. You are... you are everything to me. And I know we said it before, I do, but you don't have to say it back now."
