Q. How long are you planning on making this book? Are you planning on doing the whole series? — @writingSAS106
A. Honestly, I don't know if I'll write the whole series, but the sequel goes through season three and four. And I suppose once I get there or close, I'll decide whether or not I'll continue further.
Q. Does Evelyn have any siblings?
A. Nope! Though I was contemplating an arc where her parents moved to Scranton after adopting a pre teen. And that was a big reason why they moved closer. I later scrapped the idea because it just didn't feel like it fit.
Q. Is Evelyn going to go back to law school in the future?
A. Funny you should ask... there's a possibility.
Q. I'd love to hear about the characterization of Evelyn and how you planned her storylines ahead. — ezekieIsfiguero
A. Well, it started because I really love friends to lovers. And I really liked a bit of how they did Pam and his storyline. Coming up with Evelyn though was surprisingly quick. I was looking through face claims and she just stuck out to me. After scrolling through her instagram, I just couldn't make her anything other than a sweetheart. She just radiates light, you know? And I felt like there weren't enough sunshine characters in The Office. For her storylines, I really love slowburns (obviously), so I knew that I didn't want them to get together right away. And Katie really helped that, then I made Calum. Which,, people really reacted poorly to him and I find that really weird. And from there either office Olympics, I knew that I had to take it slow. Office romances can be really stressful and with the people they work with, it kind of seemed obvious that they would keep it under wraps first.
Q. Were there any huge changes in the early drafts on this story vs now? — @gloworm-
A. Surprisingly, no! I came up with the idea and immediately ran with it. And, to be honest, I wrote as I went. I had planned major plot points that I wanted to happen, but the rest was just a go with the flow thing.
Q. What's your absolute favorite thing about Evelyn?
A. It's so hard to pick, but I think just her attitude. She's such a sweet and sassy person. And she loves with her whole being, you know? She's such a good friend and cares so much. I think we all need an Evelyn in our lives.
Q. Impossible mode... do you have a least favorite thing about Evelyn?
A. Okay so like,, I can't stand... the fact that I can't think of an answer for this. I mean, maybe when she over thinks things? Like when she started thinking about the job in Stamford and got so worried that Jim wasn't happy with her. That he could do so much better away from them.
Q. Any hints about how Karen will be incorporated into the next book?
A. All I can say is that I don't like pitting women against women.
