Adrien waited quite impatiently for his 18th birthday, but it was finally here, he had a gift from Marinette in his room already, it was with her belongings when their class got together to help a moving company move all of the Dupain-Cheng's belongings out of the apartment they were renting with their bakery, everyone had just assumed by this point that Tom, Sabine, and Marinette were either dead, or had run off to start a new life somewhere that wasn't Paris. Standing outside the familiar shut down abandoned bakery Adrien felt nostalgic, the air was cool with the autumn breeze and his life was nothing short of interesting now, exchanging small messages with Marinette every day, though often times she would have to leave, claiming she was getting a headache and then he wouldn't hear from her for a few days, approaching the school he was tackled by an unfortunately familiar brunette.
"Adrien! Happy 18th Birthday!" Lila chirped with fake excitement as she hugged the now uncomfortable blonde, Adrien slowly pushed Lila off, giving her one of his fake model smiles, he tried to be pleasant with her since she worked for his dad, but he really did not like her one bit, she was far to clingy, and with how she treated him on the sets of their photo shoots, far to touchy for his liking, borderlining harassment if he was to be concerned with it. "Thanks Lila...but no more hugs please." He requested as he pushed her off himself. "Awww but I was just trying to keep Marinette's tradition alive for her! You always let her give you a hug on your birthday." Lila feigned innocence, wanting to give him a reason to let her hug him, she thought maybe by using Marinette as an excuse she might get away with it.
That made Adrien angry, Lila didn't know Marinette, she didn't know how much that tradition meant to him, and the fact that Lila was just trying to assume the tradition could be shared, ticked him off, you could almost see a blood vein bursting in his head, he just walked away, not wanting to cause any trouble for himself. "Don't you dare try to compare yourself to Marinette again Lila." Adrien spoke over his shoulder as he walked away from her, Alya, Nino, and himself were collecting their work for the rest of the week from their teachers since tomorrow the 3 would be going on a roadtrip in the car Adrien had received that morning for his 18th birthday.
Nino approached Adrien patting the blonde on the back with a smile. "Happy Birthday Bro, what kinda car did you get?" Nino asked, knowing it had to be something extravagant since Gabriel Agreste was filthy rich. "Mercedes Sedan, its still considered luxury since its an American style car, but its nice. Got all the bells and whistles ya know." Adrien spoke, as though it were nothing that his father had a car sent over fully customized from the US. Adrien had gotten used to his fathers money a long time ago, though the blonde still wanted to eventually get out on his own and start his own life, even if it meant using his fathers money for that he would stop once he was finished with all his schooling.

Marinette was sitting in her class, looking down at her phone, she had been waiting for a text from chat noir all morning, usually he messaged her good morning by now, but she just assumed he was busy, maybe off with a girlfriend or something, even though he'd told her multiple times she was the only girl he wanted, she couldn't help but to doubt him, she was sure there had to be someone in his life other than her that he was interested in, suddenly the phone was ripped out of her hand and she quickly reached after it as her eyes met with the dastardly muddy brown ones of her teacher Miss Allard, an older single woman whose whole existence seemed to consist of tormenting Marinette.
"Miss Dupain, you know my rule on phones in class, this is the 3rd time I've taken it from you this week and its only Wednesday." Miss Allard spoke as she stared down at Marinette with a glare, Marinette stood up and snatched her phone. "Well I'm sorry Miss Allard but you have no right to take my personal property, its completely none of your business, especially since I have an A in your class." Marinette snapped back, mad now that her phone was taken from her, this Marinette was much feistier than the Marinette that her old friends once new, the old Marinette would've just shrunk back into the corner and let the teacher take her phone.
The teacher scoffed turning around and going back to teaching her class, Marinette just smirked before sitting back down crossing her arms, she dealt with enough at home with her aunt and cousin who were always taking her things, she wasn't going to deal with it from her teacher. Safe to say Marinette was no longer invisible, she was wearing a lime green top, black jeans, a white cardigan, and combat boots, with only a small amount of makeup that she did herself, however if her cousin hadn't dressed her, she would've worn something to make herself slightly more invisible, but she liked the color combination for some reason, even though red was usually her signature color.
The next day Marinette was leaving her Aunts apartment to go to school locking the door behind herself and Bridgette who was just standing next to her on her phone, probably texting with her boyfriend, which Marinette didn't care about, Marinette was dressed in a red dress with warm tights and heeled boots, her pink backpack on her back, she'd managed to dress herself today instead of Bridgette running in and throwing clothes at her to wear. "Marinette?" She heard an unfamiliar yet oh so familiar voice, sending a shock of pain through her head, rubbing her temples as she crouched to the ground trying to calm the throbbing.
