After meeting with Kagami the Japanese girl slowly began to merge into their friend group, though it seemed she felt quite awkward about the whole situation with Marinette and Adrien now dating, sitting on a bench in the park with their friends the couple were practically off in their own little world as they talked about anything and everything, a small black kitten having approached them from behind and crawled into Adrien's lap, snow had began to fall around them, so the kitten seeking warmth was quite heartwarming when it crawled into Adrien's lap looking to Marinette who quickly scooped up the small black cat and tucking it into her fluffy warm jacket. The group of teenagers were just a matter of months from graduating, then University would enter the picture for them all and most of them were going to school out of the country, however Marinette and Adrien decided it was best to stay in Paris for their University schooling.

"He's so cute! Can we keep him?" Marinette asked innocently as she looked at her boyfriend, hoping he might be able to convince his father to let them keep the small kitten that she was already absolutely in love with. Adrien only chuckled seeing how happy his girlfriend was with the small cat in her arms. "I'll talk to my father about it and see what I can do." Adrien wasn't going to make a promise to her he couldn't keep, but he liked the small kitten to, despite having no idea how to take care of an animal since he'd never taken care of anything in his life. However seeing Marinette's face light up as she cooed to the small kitten, he couldn't help but imagine what their lives would be like after they graduated University and were able to move even further forward with their lives rather than just dating.

Continuing to spend time with their friends during the cold winter month they eventually made it to Christmas, where all their friends from school had organized a rigged secret Santa per Adrien's request, he knew they hadn't quite graduated yet, but he wanted to get Marinette something special, therefore Alya who was holding a hat out with a bunch of folded slips of paper in it approached Adrien first, but all the slips inside had Marinette's name written on them, then acting as though she forgot someone after he'd grabbed a slip, running off, and swapping out all the slips of paper with names of everyone else. Walking back to the group Alya continued passing out the slips the chatter of their friends surrounded them as the couples were cuddled up under their respective blankets, however Marinette happened to notice that Adrien's cousin who was in town and Kagami were getting quite close rather quickly.

"What's with you two? Felix has always been such a stick in the mud." Marinette called out to the two who looked at each other blushed and then back to Adrien and Marinette who were wrapped in a blanket their cat on their lap, sheepishly holding up their phones which made everyone gasp and all except Adrien and Marinette who were trapped by the cat that was spread across both their laps while all their friends congratulated Felix and Kagami on the fact that they were soulmates.

Things became a lot less awkward with Kagami after that as her feelings began to grow for Felix over the following days before he returned to London to spend the holidays with his mom. Marinette was standing outside her parents old bakery in the snow, the world was silent as she stood there staring up at her old home, she hated the fact that she could never see them, or smell the baked goods her parents used to make, all she had left were the recipes Adrien had saved for her when the class had gone to collect her things to keep as memories of her in case her and her parents never returned, she was thankful to have such a thoughtful boyfriend, that even when she wasn't around he still thought about her. Marinette began to make her way over to the park next door and sat on a snow covered bench, looking at the locket Adrien had gotten her for Christmas with a picture of her parents and herself in one side, and then her and Adrien on the other, showing how much love she had for everyone in her life. The streets were bustling with kids running around spending their Christmas money and families going out for Christmas dinner.

A figure joined her on the bench and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, Marinette looked up to see a familiar mop of blonde hair sitting next to her. "It'll always hurt, not having your parents, it still hurts not having my mom, but it's gotten better with time." Adrien offered his words of comfort, knowing he'd been longer without his mom than she'd been without her parents, but he still hoped that his words might help her as her first fully conscious Christmas without her parents. He knew from his first christmas without his mom many years ago that it wasn't easy, but Marinette had been there for him when he went through it, now he was going to be there for her and comfort her through this pain as much as he could.

"Thanks Adrien." Marinette whispered as she leaned her head on his shoulder, happy to have him as her biggest support in her life. Her thoughts were quickly interrupted as he moved off the bench and down in front of her on one knee.

"I know we're both to young for marriage, but the locket isn't the only thing I wanted to get you, so Marinette, I'm asking that you wear this ring, as simple as it might be but I want to make this promise to you, and to myself, that one day, you'll be my wife?"
Adrien's voice was sincere, as he stared into Marinette's now tearful eyes, her head quickly nodding yes as she looked at him moving to hug him, their lips pressed in a kiss their love palpable in the air as the promise ring was slid onto Marinette's finger.
