The group entered the large mansion, it was odd when Marinette was suddenly greeted by a hug from Adriens father's assistant Nathalie, she hadn't been expecting anyone to be happy to see her, especially after 4 years. Her mind was racing trying her best to figure out how to greet the older woman, she had been like a second mother, and now was the only mother role model in her life, especially since her aunt never wanted to fill that role for her. Marinette just decided to return the hug, her tears falling more as the gesture reminded her of her own mother. Joining them in the hug all her friends held them tight, Marinette couldn't believe she was finally back with the people who actually cared about her after so long, it felt like it had been forever since she was surrounded like this. So much love and care from everyone around her, she could vaguely remember the only person that ever made her feel like this for the 4 years she was gone was Luka, but she couldn't exactly recall why he made her feel this way.

She pulled out her phone once she was released from the safety of familiar arms. Seeing multiple calls and texts from her aunt and cousin, and then a contact named Luka with a heart emoji next to his name, she sneered before going to edit the contact and removing the heart next to his name. "There's our soulmate obsessed Mari." Alya spoke laughing softly as she watched Marinette go to Adriens contact and put the heart emoji there instead. Both Adrien and Marinette blushing at the small action from the girl. Adrien and Marinette looked at each other before blushing and looking away, it was a lot harder to look each other in the eye now that they knew they were meant to be together from the very beginning. The fact that they'd been together since they were kids, only made it harder for Marinette to process, especially since she now felt that in a way even if she had amnesia she had cheated on Adrien with Luka. "I'm so glad you're back Marinette." Adrien spoke softly as he hugged Marinette on his own, just holding the girl close to him, he was so glad his Marinette was back.
They all hung out for a few days before Adrien, Alya and Nino had to go back to school, Marinette going with them to the school to see if she could enroll herself, she didn't want to fall behind in her education even if she didn't really remember the last 4 years of her education, she had to make sure that her life stayed on track, even if Adriens father already assured her she would be given a job at his company as a designer. Though Marinette was met with resistance as she tried to enroll herself in the school. "Miss Dupain-Cheng, I'm sorry but you're not 18, you have to have a guardian enroll you in the school." The front office receptionist spoke causing the navy haired girl to deflate, she was defeated, which meant that she would have to return to her aunt if she wanted to continue school. "Thanks for trying." Marinette spoke softly as she left the office, her friends and soulmate looked at her confused. "They weren't able to enroll you?" Nino asked as he looked at Marinette, the blue eyed girl shaking her head still looking very defeated. Adrien walked over and hugged Marinette tight, they'd become quite a bit more affectionate to each other but were still not dating, not wanting to rush a relationship even if they had liked each other since childhood.

Marinette gave Adrien a small kiss on the cheek before she had to leave. after explaining that she had to have a guardian enroll her, which they all knew was her aunt back in Orleans. Marinette wouldn't be allowed to stay on the school premises while school was in session, so she had to go back to Adrien's house which had now become her home, even if only temporarily until she was 18 and could start working and get her own apartment.
The month passed and it was October 31st, Marinette had managed to make it almost a month without her aunt knowing her whereabouts they'd tossed the phone she'd been given not wanting to figure out if there was a tracker in it, Marinette now had a brand new phone with everything she could ever need and a new phone number that only her friends and the people of the Agreste mansion had, she was accepted into the Agreste family already as she was destined to eventually be one due to Adrien being her soulmate, Gabriel Agreste had taken custody of Marinette and enrolled her in school so that she wouldn't fall behind in her education, to the displeasure of her aunt who had tried to locate them due to the checks that stopped arriving in her bank account for Marinette's care.

"It's so weird that your father has custody of me till I'm 18." Marinette laughed as Adrien was driving them to the Halloween party the school was hosting for all the students, the two were dressed in matching costumes since Alya and Nino insisted they go as Cinderella and Prince Charming, since Alya would be Jasmine and Nino would be Aladdin. "Yeah, but at least you know you'll get everything your parents left you, Nathalie told me father has all the checks he's getting for your care going into a savings account for you since it's technically your money and he definitely doesn't need it." Adrien was happy that him and Marinette were under the same roof, even if it wasn't as a couple, it would definitely be more comfortable dating once Marinette was 18 and officially an adult, even if they were only 7 months apart in age, the most uncomfortable part was that they were as close as they could get to being siblings at the moment. "Well that's nice to know that I'll be set to move out as soon as I hit 18." Marinette's smile was contagious as Adrien looked at her while sitting at a stop light, he was mesmerized looking at her before hearing a horn and turning his attention back to the road.

The duo sat in silence for the rest of the drive after realizing the reason they'd been honked at from behind was because they were staring at each other for just a little to long, once they arrived at the school they both climbed out of the car, walking into the school together, excited to see everyone in their costumes, Chloe and Sabrina were dressed as Anna and Elsa, Kim and Max were Batman and Robin, Nathaniel was a Vampire and Marc was a werewolf, there were to many costumes to count, so many witches hats, and varying versions of different costumes, but Adrien and Marinette were quickly greeted by a certain Jasmine and Aladdin pulling them towards the snack table. "Just a warning, Miss Elsa over there spiked the punch, so avoid that at all costs." Alya warned having had a small taste before quickly spitting it out. "Good thing they have cans of soda." Marinette laughed as she grabbed a sprite from the ice chest and popped it open taking a sip then offering the can to Adrien who blushed but took the kind gesture and sipped from it himself. "Indirect kiss, very sneaky." Nino teased Adrien as the blonde only lit up further in embarrassment.

The group had a lot of fun and received lots of compliments on their extremely high quality costumes, by the time it hit around 10 Marinette and Adrien were dancing together to a slow song, the two looked like the prince and princess they were dressed as, their classmates and close friends were all dancing with their respective partners or off on the sidelines chatting and drinking or snacking, Marinette and Adrien were reminiscing of the old times neither had realized the DJ had been replaced by a live band, climbing up on the stage towards the front of the school, a familiar looking guitarist stood at the front of the band. "This song goes out to my muse, the girl who plays just the right melody to match the one in my heart." His voice caused 4 people in the crowd to freeze, Adrien pulling Marinette off to the side so that Luka hopefully wouldn't see her, the two now being alone in a temporarily abandoned part of the school.

"How did he know I go to school here." Marinette whispered as she peaked back around the classroom door, she didn't want Luka to see her, she couldn't even really remember the relationship she supposedly had with him, all she knew was that she hurt Adrien because of it. "That doesn't matter, we'll wait here till he's gone." Adrien sighed as he walked around the empty classroom which happened to be the same one from their freshman year. The year she got amnesia and lost both her parents. "A lot of memories here..." Marinette spoke softly as she walked to her old seat and sat down with a smile. "Yeah." Adrien smiled leaning onto her desk, they stared at each other for a few moments before their faces slowly started getting closer together, both teens meeting in the middle for their very first kiss as soulmates.
