Marinette was relaxed, the party slowly coming to an end as people had university to go home and prepare for, as not many were so lucky to go to school so close to home like Chloe, Marinette, Adrien, and Alya. Nino was going to a film school in Germany while Zoe was going to university in America to study acting, all of their friends were set with their life plans, while in Adriens mind, he was still entirely unsure of what he wanted to do, maybe acting like his mom, or go into the family business with Marinette, but that didn't inspire him, teaching would be great, but he'd never be home for their baby, alot of options wandered through Adriens mind as he considered all his options, wondering if it would be best to work for the family business his whole life, he could make his own schedule, be with his future wife and child, choices loomed over him like a heavy weight that he couldn't get out from under.

He felt trapped in his life, not necessarily with Marinette, but he was having second thoughts about their initially unexpected addition to their lives. But he knew mentioning that now would strain his relationship, they were just weeks out from finding out if the baby was a boy or girl, but he needed a moment to breathe, to not think about that he would be a dad in a matter of months. Stepping away from Marinette he kissed her cheek before trying his best to not look like he was trying to get away from her. Noticing a slight change in Adriens behavior towards Marinette, Luka was the first to get up and follow after Adrien.

"Hey, Adrien, what's going on?" Luka asked, knowing after he'd met Adrien he'd never acted like this towards Marinette, at least not from what he had ever seen, if anything the blonde had always been overly affectionate to Marinette.
"I don't want to talk about it, I just need a drink." Adrien spoke quickly ordering a shot at the bar, he tried to be supportive of Marinette at all times, but needed a little boost to let him loosen up.
"No alcohol, you're going to talk, or I'll make sure Marinette knows you've broken your little promise with her you made with her for during her pregnancy." Luka spoke sternly, being 21 he felt he might know a little more than Adrien who was almost 19.
"I don't know if I'm really ready to be a dad." Adrien wished he could get it all over with, but Marinette was his soulmate, the couldn't just up and leave her, this baby wasn't just her fault.
"No one ever is Adrien, but you made the choice to not use protection with her, but you've made it this far, and she needs you." Luka spoke, feeling his own words make him jealous, but he knew he was right, Adrien was Marinette's soulmate, second thoughts weren't supposed to be a thing when you found the one, but Marinette had seemed to prove even more to him with every person she met or knew in her past.
"I know! She deserves so much more, so much better, I'm trying I really am, I'm just terrified... what if something happens to her and I'm left alone with a child I don't know how to raise? Just like my dad was when I was little, I mean, I at least had Marinette's parents to watch over me..." Adrien voices his doubts, confiding in Luka, someone he swore he hated, not only because of what he tried to do to Marinette, but because of the fact that Luka had loved Marinette at one point, and in Luka's mind and heart, part of him still loved Marinette.

After talking for a while, Adrien still having his doubts about father hood they returned to the party, seeing all of Adrien and Marinette's old classmates enjoying the party, while it looked like Marinette was taking a well needed nap beneath the cabana, walking over to her Adrien sat next to her, placing a gentle hand on her swollen stomach, he hated himself slightly for how he felt about this baby, but from what Luka had said, it was entirely normal, especially for young first time parents, though according to Luka, Adrien had a leg up, Marinette was fantastic with children, and would be an exceptional mother, which both young men agreed on that fact, both could see the love in each other's eyes for the bluenette who slept soundly in front of Adrien, noticing a few non-toxic marker scribbles on what was barely exposed of Marinette's stomach, he could see 'Baby CatBug' written in Alya's handwriting, making the blonde chuckle quietly. Marinette's eyes slowly opened, revealing the drowsy blue of her eyes smiling softly and gently lifting her from the seat he decided it was time for them to go home.

"Let's go Princess, I think you need a nap in our much colder apartment." He spoke softly, despite still having his doubts about their baby, it was natural to want to take care of her when she wasn't fully capable of caring for herself.
"Are you sure? I'm okay napping on the lounger..." Marinette's words were slurred at fatigue plagued her every word, she was even sleepier than normal, though could still be considered a normal occurrence for her even when she wasn't in her second trimester with their child, the young woman having suffered with sleeping in most of her pre-teen and teenage years.
"Yes I'm sure, you and baby CatBug need some good rest." His voice as endearing as he could force out of himself as he carried her down to the car, buckling his girlfriend into her seat, then climbing into the driver's seat and taking them home, where she could change and get comfortable, maybe even snuggle up in bed and turn on a cozy movie that she would 100% fall asleep to.
