The Quiet One

holiday time

it was Christmas eve; Leah's family had made it to Barcelona in peace and it was the day before Christmas, and Elijah was finally getting discharged from the hospital.

it had been almost three long weeks of watching Eli waking up and slowly become more himself day by day. I was sat eating my breakfast before I had to leave to be at the hospital for nine. I put my bowl in the dishwasher and walked into the living room where everyone else is watching a movie.

"Hey, I'm off to go get Eli, I'll see you all in a couple hours" I said, I kissed Leah on the lips, and she asked, "you want me to come with you"!

"No, it's okay you stay here you haven't slept, and I also still need to get some Christmas stuff" I said.

"Oh, why is it for me" she asked.

"Maybe maybe not. right, I got to see you later" I said.

"Love you" she said.

"Love you more" I said leaving the house. I got into the car and set of straight to the hospital, I got there just in time and walked straight to his room. he was sat up with no more cables attached to him. he reached for me, and I picked him up with ease being careful with his chest.

"Good morning baby you ready to go home" I said, and he smuggled into me. the doctor walked into the room and handed me Elijas discharge papers and leaflets about Elis health and what to do.

"So here is everything you need, and I just need your signature and then you can go in the leaflets there's the weeks that check-ups are needed to make sure everything is going well" he said, and I nodded.

"Thank you" I said to the doctor and gave him the discharge papers, once the doctor left, I put Elijah's shoes and coat on making sure he was nice and warm. I grabbed all his clothes, and we walked out of the hospital saying goodbye to the nurses.

once we got to the car, I put all the bags in the back of the car and then putting Eli into his seat and gave him a premade bottle and his blanket, as it is coming close to his nap and he is not the best when it comes to shopping.

I got into the car once Eli was buckled in, I set of to the nearest shopping centre. Christmas shopping was hard especially because everyone did not know what they wanted either which did not help, but over the last couple of months I have been writing down anything that has been mentioned that they are wanting.

and the reason why I am going out so late is because Leah has mentioned that she is wanting a pandora ring, and thankfully I know which one she is wanting so I'm going to go grab it, Leah has been the hardest to shop for as she never really wanted anything so I've gotten lucky, I parked up and got a sleeping Elijah out of the car and into his pram, and walked into the warm shops, I instantly found the ring and it was the wishbone ring in silver, I was also able to find some nice little hoop earrings for her. once they were bought, we went in all the other shops getting some other things for everyone.

we both got back to the car and went home since it had started raining hard, we got to the house in one peace and the house was scarily quiet I walked into the living room, and they were still watching movies now onto the harry potter movies.

I looked over and saw Leah and Jacob were fast asleep, and Amanda was sat in the middle of them both.

"You are having fun" I asked her.

"Hello no not really but I am now Eli is here" she said.

I placed a still sleeping Eli on her lap.

"Here is another sleeping baby" I said, and she signed with a massive smile on her face knowing that she would not have it any other way. I went and grabbed the bags out of the car and into my room away in the cupboard away from sight.
