Nico is prepared. Always so prepared and organized. She pulls her pencil out and circles a few ideas. She then turns the paper towards me. "I've circled four that look fun and simple. What do you think?"

Her bright eyes nudge an answer out of me. "I think that's very organized of you."

She shakes her head, smiling. "What do you think about the ones I've circled?"

I look down at the paper. Which would take the most effort? "Um... I don't know. The, um, the writing one sounds interesting."

Usually, I can easily spot the project that will take the least amount of effort, but this project is different. This project is with Nico, and I need all the help I can get. The clock is ticking.

Her smile widens. "Ah! Perfect. That's the one I thought sounded like the most fun. I love to write."

I can't help the tiny smirk that finds its way onto my face. "I remember."

She writes the topic at the top of a clean sheet of paper and makes arrows from it. "Okay, we can do a short story based off of the book. We could also pick a character to write a backstory of. Um... let's see."

She hums a short tune for a minute, and I find myself wishing she'd keep humming. "We could... write an alternate ending. Oh! We could also rewrite part of the book in a more modern way. Or the whole book; I mean, it isn't that long."

I laugh at her enthusiasm towards the project. I hate to say it, but only a real nerd could care this much. "Oh, man. You really like writing."

She glares at me playfully. "Yes, English and writing are my current obsessions."

My curiosity piques. "Obsessions?"

"Yeah," she perks up. "You don't... It's like, um, something I do sometimes. I just get really obsessed with something for a minute. You don't get those?"

I shake my head. I like things, but I don't get arbitrarily obsessed with random things. She hums, thinking.

"Well, anyways," she picks back up, her cheeks flushed. "Which do you find most entertaining?"

I watch her for a moment as she scans the options before looking back up at me, her head still lowered. "Oh, um. I—Well, which do you like?"
