I WON'T BE COMING WITH YOU

Tumagal si Elaine ng dalawang oras sa lawa bago siya tumayo at bumalik sa loob ng mansion. Magkasunuran lang sila ng kanyang kuya pumasok.

"Where have you been? Bakit basa ka?" Kunot ang noo na tanong ng lalake sa kanya.

"Lake." Tipid niyang sagot.

Tinitigan lang siya ng lalake at magsasalita na sana nang biglang sumulpot din si Tristan sa likuran nito. Dane looked behind him and saw Tristan who just got home from his jogging every night before sleeping.

"What are you guys doing here in the hallway?" Tristan asked.
Elaine shrugged and just turned his back and continued walking to her room. She feels cold when she was talking with the two for too long. Dumirtso siya sa bathroom upang makapag-linis ng maayos ng kanyang sarili. And after that, she wears her night gown and was about to go to sleep when she heard someone knocking on her door. Tinatamad na binuksan niya ang pinto ng kanyang kwarto at nakita si Tristan sa labas.

"Yes?" She sleepy asked.

Tristan didn't speak at first and just looked at her. Elaine furrowed her brows and crossed her arms in front of her as she leaned in the door frame.

"Yes?" Ulit niya.

"Sorry, I just wanted to say goodnight." Tristan said as he turned away immediately after saying those words.

Elaine dropped her jaw and raised her brows at the same time. She shook her head while closing  the door but a voice of her brother reaches her ears.

"Why are you here outside?" Dane asked while approaching her.

"Tristan knocked my door but he just said good night and left after." She answered.

Dane stopped walking and tilted his head. He then started walking again and stopped in front of her. Elaine gulped secretly and also looked away.

"He only did that?" Dane asked seriously.

"Yes." Elaine answered as she also nodded.

Dane observes the woman in front of him and took a deep breath after a while. He then nodded and speaks again.

"Alright, go inside now and sleep."

"Alright, Goodnight." Elaine turned away and close the door.

Dane frowned when he noticed something. "Wait.." He couldn't helped but to said that.

"Enn???" Elaine tilted her head.

"Let me in." Dane was about to step in but Elaine stopped him.

"I'm sleepy.. Go back to your room or go to your girlfriend instead. I wanted to sleep." Elaine denied his entrance so Dane's curiosity raised more.

" Elaine.."

"Talk to me tomorrow." She said and forcefully closed the door.

Dane got stiffened as his eyes squinted too. What's wrong? He took a deep breath and just walked away from his sister's room and went back to his room where Audrey was waiting for him.

Next morning..

Everyone is having their breakfast and Elaine is talking happily with Tristan. Dane and Audrey is also talking about their plans for Audrey's fashion show.

"Kuya, pupunta kami ni Tristan sa kulungan ng mga kabayo." Agaw pansin ni Elaine sa kapatid.

"Horse? Are you two going to horse riding?" Dane asked while looking at Elaine's eyes.

Elaine nodded as answer. She even hold the hands of Tristan and was ready to leave when Dane stood up. He fixed himself first and offered his hand to Audrey.

"Let's go. Let's join them." Dane said to Audrey.

Napa-ngiti naman si Audrey at masayang tinanggap ang kamay ng kasintahan. Elaine also smiled habang hinihila ang kamay ni Tristan.

Ilang sandali pa ay narating din nila ang kwadra ng mga kabayo ni Dane. Hinila ni Elaine si Tristan upang maka-pili ng kanilang pwedeng sakyan. Pinili ni Tristan ang kulay brown na kabayo. Pinili naman ni Audrey ang kulay abuhin at tinulungan pa ito ni Dane na maka-akyat. Elaine averted her eyes right away and tried to find a perfect horse for herself.

"Hindi ka pa nakaka-pili?" Tanong ni Dane sa kanya.

"Yes. They seem to be hating me." She teased.

Dane chuckled and still standing behind her. He enjoyed himself watching his sister picking her horse to ride while the American siblings are already running around the area.

"Why are you still here?" Kunot ang noo na tanong ni Elaine sa lalake.

"Waiting for you of course." Dane said.

"Wala ka pa rin namang kabayo na hawak-hawak." Aniya dito.

Napa-shrug lang si Dane habang tumingin sa may kaliwa. Elaine also looked at where her brother looking at. At nakita niya ang isang itim na stallion na hila-hila ng tauhan sa Hacienda. Namilog ang kanyang mga mata sa pag-hanga.

"That's your horse?" She asked.

"Yeah. Her name is Sully." Sagot ni Dane.

Napa-tango lang si Elaine habang naka-tingin pa rin sa kabayo. Just after a few seconds, naka-rinig siya ng halinghing ng kabayo sa may dulo ng kulungan. Nang lingunin niya ang kabayo ay napa-ngiti siya ng makita ang kulay puting kabayo.

"I want that one." She said.

"That's drake. Masyadong mapili sa sasakay sa kanya ang kabayong yan. Sigurado ka bang kaya mo siyang sakyan.?" Nasa boses ni Dane ang bahagyang pag-aalala.

"Yeah. I can. Don't worry." Elaine answered.

Inilabas ng taga-silbi lang kabayo at pinalapit kay Elaine. Nakakagulat dahil parang sabik pa itong makalapit sa babae.

"Parang gusto niya ako." Elaine smiles.

"Yeah.. Seems so. Let me help you."

"No need. I can do it myself." Kailangan niyang umiwas sa masyadong paglapit sa lalake. If she wanted to forget her feelings for him, she needs to start by keeping herself away from him.

"By the way kuya." Elaine speaks after getting up to the horse back. "I won't be going with you to New York. I planned to go to my School and study their previous lessons." She said as she guided the horse then run away.

Dane was left speechless and wondering what's going on.

"What is she hiding this time?" He asked himself.
