Chapter 27 - Resemblance

Gabrielle 

I was in a Restaurant right now waiting for Celestea because I am asking her for more updates back home. When she arrives she look pale na para bang nakakita siya ng multo. "What happened?" Tanong ko sakaniya. She was hesitant to answer then she just shrugged her shoulders. "Nothing." She mumbled.

While talking to her, nabaling 'yung atensyon ko sa labas. I saw a woman standing near the restaurant and she's holding a child. "Elle?" I curiously whispered. Hindi ako puwedeng magkamali. It was really Elle. Celestea turned to where I was looking at, nung biglang nawala 'yung babaing kanina pa namin tinitignan. I was about to go outside and look for that woman who look exactly like Elle when I bumped into a child. She's crying while holding a chocolate in her arms. "Ma..maa." She murmured.

Sandali akong sumilip ulit sa labas pero wala na'kong nakitang tao o babaing nakatayo malapit sa Restaurant kaya binaling ko 'yung atensyon ko do'n sa batang sa tingin ko eh nawawala.

"Where's your mommy." I softly asked the child but she just shook her head.

"What's your name?" I asked her again pero busy siya do'n sa pagbukas ng chocolate na kanina niya pa hawak hawak then I noticed what is written in her necklace. "Dahlia." I whispered. Dahlia is her name, what a beautiful name.

"Kuya, she looks like you, female version!" Celestea's joke caught my attention. I look at Dahlia, she's has a fair complexion and dark brown hair, she also has dark hazel eyes and a pointed nose and most importantly she has a cute chubby cheeks and little tiny hands. I see some resemblance pero napakalayo at sobrang labo naman na maging anak ko siya.

I felt sad all of a sudden, I relly want to have a child pero wala eh hanggang ngayon wala pa din. If Elle is here siguro nagka-anak na kami. Kung hindi siya nawala 3 years ago baka naayos pa namin 'yung marriage namin. Baka ngayon masaya na kami pero wala, everything has changed over night. No one expected everything that happened to us. I look at Dahlia again and helped her open her chocolate.

Naalala ko si Elle sa chocolate na hawak hawak ni Dahlia. Meiji chocolate, Iyon kasi 'yung paborito ni Elle, well I guess paborito niya. Naalala ko kasi na lagi lagi siyang may bitbit ng gano'ng chocolate.

Dahlia turned to me and she keeping her best trying to reach me na para bang gusto niyang magpabuhat. Kaya kinuha ko siya at binuhat. Pagbuhat ko sakaniya eh niyakap niya ako. I don't know why pero parang ang gaan ng pakiramdam ko sa batang 'to.

"Kuya nasaan kaya ang Mommy niyan?" I turned to Celestea na kanina pa nakatitig samin. Umiling lang ako dahil hindi ko din alam ang isasagot. Hindi ko namalayan na habang bitbit ko si Dahlia at nakasandal siya sa balikat ko eh nakatulog na siya.

I gently path Dahlia's shoulder to make her fall askeep fast and comfortable when I heard someone called for her. When I turned around it was.. Madison?

Bakas sa mukha ni Madison 'yung gulat nung makita akong bitbit si Dahlia, dali dali naman nagising ang bata nung marinig niya 'yung boses ni Madison. "Oh My God, Baby Dahlia, I was looking for you everywhere." She said at lumapit siya sa'kin para kunin si Dahlia.

"Ah Gabrielle."

"I, I wanna thank you for looking after my niece, na'ko buti na lang ikaw ang nakakita sakaniya." Magiliw pero halata mong parang Kinakabahan siya nung makita ako.

It's been years simula nung huli ko siyang makita. I know that she's one of Elle's closest friend next to Michael but I didn't know what happened to her since I last saw her in the hospital visiting my Mom.

"Gabrielle, kamusta na?" She turned to me again and hesitantly asked as if she wanted to say something.

"May.. may balita na ba kay Elle?" She loudly whispered na parang bang naalangan siyang magtanong. I shook my head and handed Dahlia to her.

"No, Still no leads at all." I simply replied. Pagkatapos no'n ay nagpaalam na siya.

I wave goodbye at Dahlia and she's waving goodbye too while smiling genuinely to me and my sister.

"Kuya, sino siya?" Tanong ni Celestea nung makaalis sina Madison.

"She's one of Elle's closest friend." I replied, she just nodded and speak again.

"Why do you feel sad, are you having baby fever?" She jokingly asked then I turned to hsr smile.

"Maybe?" I said and we both laugh a little.

"I wanna have pamangkin too!" She exclaimed. I raise my eyebrows. "My wife is missing, walang mommy!" I jokingly told her.

"You should go find a boyfriend and and have child so I can be a tito." Dagdag ko pa tapos ay sumimangot lang siya.

"Eh, ayoko magka-anak, gusto ko lang ng pamangkin para kapag makulit puwede ko isoli sa'yo, gusto ko ng anak na returnable!" Reklamo pa niya at nagtawanan lang kami ulit.

"Sus, crush mo si Michael diba? Ligawan mo!" Biro ko sakaniya kaya hinampas niya ako.

"Ako? Manliligaw? No, way!" Irita niyang sagot kaya natawa na lang ako.

I looked back kung saan kanina nakatayo sina Madison pero wala na sila do'n. Maybe, Celestea was right. I having some baby fever because of Dahlia's cuteness.

I turned to Celestea again. "Do you miss your wife? Seryosong tanong niya.

"So much." I said. I wanted to cry because I really miss Elle at nanghihinayang ako sa panahong nasayang ko kakamumok na wala na si Amethyst sa'kin habang kami ni Elle. I should've taught my heart to love Elle. Kung natuturuan lang ang puso eh kaso hindi. Late ko na na realized na mahalaga pala si Elle sa'kin.

Alam kong nasaktan ko siya ng sobra noon at hindi ko siya deserve but if ever I had a chance to prove myself to her again when she comes back. I will do everything to win her back. I will show her how much she mean to me.

Gano'n pala yo'n noh? You will only realize someone's worth once they are gone, once they have already left you.

I turned to Celestea again and said my goodbyes because I wanted to go to a bar. Gusto kong makalimot kahit sandali lang.. tsk! I haven't drink for months na din.
