Valentina
I heard a knock on my door, waking me up. I grabbed my phone and saw that it was 8:15 and quietly exiting my room, I went downstairs and opened the door, beyond shocked seeing Danny. "What are you doing here?"
"I needed to see you."
"It's late."
"Did I wake you?"
"I was exhausted."
"Can I see him?"
"He's sleeping and..." I then heard Maverick crying upstairs.
"I got it."
"Danny..."
Ignoring me, he went upstairs, and I sat on the couch. I did not want him here but at the same time, he had every right to see his son.
I chose to push him away and it made me feel bad. I could put on an act all I wanted, but I knew what I truly wanted and the only person that I wanted in my life was Danny.
"What did you end up naming him?"
"Maverick Jace."
"He looks just like you."
I looked at Danny and nodded. "Thanks."
He sat on the couch next to me and sighed. "You haven't responded to any of my texts or calls and have completely ignored me at work."
"Because what's the point of interacting with each other? You are happily married to Lia."
"But I am not though."
"What do you mean?"
"She's a condescending, self-centered person. You are incomparable and I don't want Lia. I want you."
"You shouldn't feel that way, Danny."
"Val, I am in love with you, and I want to be with you."
"Why should I believe you?"
"We have a son together and if I had a choice, I would choose you any day over your sister."
"I'm not that special."
"To me, you are."
"And I just found out a few things that are just..."
Danny placed his hand on my leg and smiled. "You can tell me anything, Valentina."
"Well for one, I found out that Nico's been cheating on me for the past four months, so I broke that off earlier and second, I found out that I am pregnant. I am having another kid, and it scares me."
"Oh."
"Yeah. I just don't know what to do anymore."
Danny caressed my face and smiled. "Val, listen to me. I am here for you."
I shook my head and sighed. "You should go."
"Not until I tell you what I need to tell you."
"What is it?"
"Well, I can't tell you quite yet, but it is a surprise."
"I hate surprises."
"This is a good one, I promise."
"Alright."
He stood up and took Maverick upstairs before returning. "Are you sure I can't stay?"
"No. I can't have Lia finding out about this."
"Soon, baby."
"What?"
He smirked. "Nothing." He wrapped his arms around me, and I felt myself giving in to his touch. "Goodnight, Val."
"Night, Danny."
"One more thing." As he opened the door, he lightly kissed me. "Just know how I feel about you."
What he had planned, I had no idea, but it scared me.
