Valentina
After having to go through an unexpected C-section, the pain was gone the moment I had Callie in my arms. "Merry Christmas, baby."
"Can you call Nick?"
"Already texted him."
After the doctor cleared me to go home, we went back to Nick's to introduce his niece. "I can't believe I have a niece and a nephew now."
"I know. I sure didn't expect it."
"At least you won't have to get Callie presents twice a year."
Danny smiled. "I know. I didn't think we'd have her on Christmas. She's strong."
Nick nodded. "She always has been strong."
"But I do have a few things for you, Danny."
"What's that?"
I handed Danny a box and smirked. "You'll see."
He opened the box and looked at me. "You got me a signed Stars jersey?"
"I know you're a die-hard Stars fan, and this as well." I grabbed a small box off of the coffee table. "I am sure this is your biggest surprise."
I opened the box and felt my heart nearly drop. "Is this... mine?"
"I know you wanted one."
"I could've boughten it with my own money, Val."
"Well, I figured it would be special getting you a Bugatti with my own money."
"I can't believe you."
"You're welcome."
"Well, speaking of surprises..." Nick handed him a small box and I could hardly contain myself the moment he got down on one knee. "I know we've been through a lot together but after months of thinking about my future, I didn't want anyone else but you in it. I promised to take care of our son and be the father for Callie that Nico's not, but I don't want us to be in a relationship. I want to make you my wife instead, so... will you marry me?"
"Yes!"
He kissed me and slid the ring on my finger. "Merry Christmas, Val."
"I love you so much."
"I love you more."
"This is the best gift I could possibly ask for, and most importantly, Callie."
"To a new beginning."
