Chapter 57

Valentina

After what felt like forever, Danny finally came in and shut the door. "You obeyed me. Good girl."

"Always."

Smirking, he took his clothes off and started to kiss me. "I missed this."

"Me too."

"Do you want me to wear protection?"

"No."

He looked at me and smirked. "So, you're saying you want another baby?"

"Maybe, maybe not."

"I was hoping you would say that."

It was almost 2 in the morning by the time he finished and after he fell asleep, I got out of bed and went to the kitchen to get a drink. If he had plans to propose again, I didn't know but I deep down wanted it to happen. I miss calling him my husband. "Babe?"

"Coming."

I put the glass in the sink and went back to the bedroom. "Are you okay? It's late."

"I was thirsty."

"Is something on your mind?"

"No."

"Are you sure about that?"

"Yes."

"Well, I got something planned."

"What is it?"

He smirked. "You'll see."

*** The next morning: I woke up and saw a note on the nightstand.

I am giving you the day off today. I scheduled a spa day for you and Micah. It is already paid for, no fighting about it. I have some things planned later; I'll be home around 4. I love you.

Micah showed up to my apartment at 9:30 dressed in casual attire. "Danny called Jake, and he said we have a girls' day."

"I know."

"It'll be fun! We haven't had a spa day in forever."

"It has been quite a while."

Danny

I spent half the day planning tonight. "I can't believe you're proposing again."

"I need to do this, Raul."

"How much did you spend on that thing again?"

"A lot."

"How much is a lot?"

"Out of the price range that I originally planned."

"Dude..."

"I'm doing it right this time."

"Where are you planning on doing it?"

"I rented a room at the Lakeway Resort & Spa for today through Monday. There's a water park for the kids and there's a hot spring at the resort. I'm taking her there."

"Nice. Just hope she says yes."

"Me too."

When I left work, I called Valentina and told her to pack a bag for her and the kids. "Where are we going?"

"You'll see."

She surprisingly had some things packed the moment I walked in the door. "You got ready quick."

She shrugged. "You told me to."

"I need to just grab a couple items of..."

"Already got stuff for you."

"You what?"

"I put some casual and nice clothes of yours in the bag."

"Well, I would need to grab..."

"Toothbrush, toothpaste, cologne, check."

"Are you serious?"

She smiled and picked Callie up. "Yes, I am serious. So, let's go, shall we?"

"Yes, ma'am."

We all got in my car, and I put the address in. "Can you at least tell me where it is?"

"You'll see."

It was 7:30 once we arrived and got room service. "This place is amazing!"

"We can take the kids down to the waterpark tomorrow."

"I want to go now, daddy!" Callie pouted.

"It's bedtime, sweetheart. Daddy and I will take you guys down in the morning."

"Promise?"

"Yes."

After Valentina took them to the kids' room in the suite, I quickly grabbed the ring box and shoved it in my swimming shorts pocket. "Put your bathing suit on."

"What?"

"There's a girl coming in to keep an eye on the kids, so don't worry."

Nodding, she went in the bathroom to get changed.

There was a light knock on the door and a short girl smiled at me. "I'm Kayla. You must be Danny?"

"I am. We will just be gone for an hour."

"Oh, take as long as you need."

"Thank you."

"Of course!"

After Valentina got changed, we went downstairs and out the door that led to the hot springs. "Wow."

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

"I would say this is a pretty good surprise."

"You first."

She got in the water and waited for me to join. "You coming?"

Nodding, I made sure the box was in my pocket securely and wrapped my arm around her. "You look stunning in this lighting."

"Well, thanks."

"I know I messed up, but I promise I have changed."

"I really hope so, Danny. Because this is your last chance. If you mess up this time, I will pack your shit and kick you out of my house forever."

"I promise you, Val."

"Your children need you, Danny. They need a father who will actually remain in their lives."

"I'm not going anywhere. I know we've gone through a lot of ups and downs between your mother and all that. But ever since you left, you have no idea how much I missed being able to identify you as my wife."

"I felt the same way. Multiple times."

"Shut your eyes."

The moment she shut her eyes, I grabbed the box and took the ring out. "Open them."

"Oh my god..."

"Val, will you do me the honor of marrying me again?"

"Are you serious?"

"Yes."

"Of course." Smirking, I slid the ring on her finger and kissed her. "How long did you have this planned?"

"A few weeks. I had to do some thorough planning."

"Well, I would say you did a good job."

"Do you want to stay here for a little bit or go back to the room?"

"I'm pretty tired to be honest."

Nodding, I grabbed her hand and gave her a towel. "Let's go back, shall we?"

"Yes."
