Danny

I was shocked to hear that Valentina had broken up with her boyfriend. I know that I shouldn't ask what had happened, but I had a strong urge to do it. "Valentina, can I see you in my office?"

She looked at me and raised her eyebrows. "Now?"

"Yes."

"Yeah, sure."

She stood up and followed me to my office, shutting the door behind her. "What's up?"

"How are you?"

"I've been better."

"What happened?"

"What do you mean?"

"I heard you talking about it this morning."

"So, you think that you can eavesdrop now?"

"No, but I just wanted to ask if you're okay."

She shrugged. "I'm fine."

"Look, can you give me five minutes? I need to tell you something."

"I have stuff to do, not now."

"Well, can you actually follow through and meet me tonight?"

"Where?"

"Wherever you would like. I can get a hotel room if you want."

"Okay."

"Really?"

"Yeah."

"God, thank you so much."

"Have a good day, Danny." She left my office, shutting my door and I sat on my chair, beyond relieved that she is finally agreeing to meet me tonight.

William entered my office and raised his eyebrows. "Spill it."

"What?"

"Come on, man. I know what's been going on between you two."

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"We've been friends for a long time, Danny. I know when you're lying. I know that she's the mother of your son."

"So what?"

"What about Lia?"

"I bought this for Val."

I grabbed the small box out of my desk and handed it to William. "You're proposing?"

"I have to. Well, I need to."

"What about Lia?"

"I went to Jacob's and filled divorce papers out."

"I can't believe you'd ditch her like that."

"I don't love her anymore."

"So, you're just expecting Valentina to say yes?"

"I hope so, I put a lot of effort into it."

"You're too funny. I guarantee she'll say no."

"Want to bet on that?"

"If I were you, I would wait it out."

"Why would I do that?"

"Valentina's relationship with her sister seems like it's already rocky, I think this would just make it worse. But that's just me."

I hated waiting, but I had to agree with William. I didn't want to deal with the drama of proposing whilst being married to Lia still.

I left work at 5 and went to the hotel, throwing the rose petals in the garbage and put everything else in the dumpster. I hated wasting my money, but I had no choice.

Valentina

As requested, I met Danny at the Hilton and had no idea what was about to happen tonight. I wanted to confess my feelings for him, but I had no idea how to.

I knocked on the door, and he opened it, a smile on his face. "Hey."

"Hi."

"Come in."

I took my shoes off, my heart nearly bursting out of my chest. I hated confessing my feelings, but I had to before I could change my mind. "Danny?"

"Yes?"

"I... need to tell you something."

"Can that wait?"

"I..."

He cut me off with a kiss, slowly taking my dress off of me and tossed it on the floor. "I need to do this," he whispered. "I have craved this."

After what seemed like several hours of passionate sex, he finished inside of me. "Danny, can I tell you what I wanted to..."

Suddenly, the door opened, and my heart dropped the moment I saw my sister standing in the doorway. "What the fuck is going on?"
