I am not a master of quirky quips on Facebook. Neither am I a selfie queen. Nor do I check-in whenever I eat out.
I do, however, like to leave my personal touch on my Facebook account, as opposed to my friend who exclusively shares Facebook pages' posts, with none of her own. I share pins from Pinterest, I share photos of my books, I share quotes, and sometimes I take a stab at the quirky quip.
The people who use Facebook solely as a selfie stash or birthday bash come across as linear, as opposed to three-dimensional. That's their way of leaving their personal touch, but I must say it gets very repetitive. Which is why it's a good thing that I don't depend mainly on Facebook for my Internetting. If I did, I would be very, very bored, not to mention depressed, because looking at the bright side of everyone's life polished to perfection on their profiles is reported to do that to you.
I do like going through my news feed, though, but mainly because of the pages I've liked. I think I am one of the few people to actually make a list of pages (instead of people) or use the "save" feature.
I am always in danger of feeling intellectually superior to my Facebook friends because of the things I post, but I always anchor myself to the good old earth with my real life interactions, which are decidedly less "intellectual".
Besides, Facebook isn't an IQ competition...is it?
Dear readers, I'm launching a Ramadan story tomorrow! It goes like this:
Inaya Moin is sixteen, superb and smiling this Ramadan because she is all set for the holy month of Quran. At least she thinks so. Shouldn't her Ramadan chart, journal and app be enough? She'll find the true Ramadan spirit for sure this time. Of course, nothing unexpected will happen. Of course, she'll finish one recitation of Quran. Of course, she will be immune to Ramadan meltdown. Of course, of course, of course...right? Updates on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday!
What do you think?
