INEZ
Lorcan leaves the room and closes the door loudly while leaving. The loud sound made me jump because of fear. It seems like I have no energy to move. I feel too traumatized to even move. I don't even have enough courage to turn around and look at the dead body of the innocent nurse who had come here to tell me about my sister's condition.
She was innocent but she had to die because of me. She is dead now. She was alive a few minutes ago but then she became a victim of Lorcan's cruelty. Tears are continuously falling down my cheeks. My nails are biting into the inside of my palm and I am trying my best to control the shaking of my body. I hear the sound of the door opening and then feel someone's presence behind me. It takes two to three minutes for me to calm my nerves.
"Iníon, It will be good for you if you wait outside the room till the room is clean." I hear Cathal's voice and then I look upwards to stop the tears. The strong smell of blood in this room is making me nauseous. I wipe my tears and take a deep breath. I look towards my sister who is in deep sleep unknown of all the things that happened here or are going on in my life.
I move towards her and sit on the chair which is placed near the bed. I put my head on the bed near her and took her hand in mine. Her hand is cold but it is all I need right now. She is my only strength and weakness too.
"Iníon-" I hear Cathal's voice again but I cut him before he can speak further.
"No, I want to stay here with my sister." I said to Cathal because I knew what he was going to say. I don't want to leave Evelyn. I want to be beside her.
"As you wish, Iníon." He replies and then I hear sounds of more people coming inside the room. I try to muffle all those sounds as much as possible. I take Evelyn's hand in mine and kiss the back of it.
"Why don't you wake up, Evelyn? You don't know how much tension I am in right now. I don't know how to save us both from Lorcan. He may never kill me but will not wait a second before killing you. He is using you to control me." I said to her and more tears rushed down my eyes. I cannot stop my loud cries. I want to let all this pain out.
After some time when I am tired of crying, I sit up and wipe my tear-stained cheeks. I still remember the day when I first met him. I wish I had not talked with him that day. If I had the slightest idea of him and his work at that moment then I would have run miles away from him. I would not have talked with him if I knew that he was Lorcan, the one who was going to ruin my life.
Flashback
"I am sorry, Miss Inez but we cannot do anything about this." The doctor tells me and leaves. I look toward my sister and then move out of her room. I don't want to cry in front of her. I sit on the metallic benches placed near her room. I lean my head back and let the tears fall.
It seems like my life has come to an end. The doctor has just informed me that my sister will never wake up from the coma. The chances of her waking up are close to nonexistent. She has a major injury to her brain. He suggested removing the oxygen and letting her die. How can he suggest something like this to a girl who is left with only her sister in this world?
Three months have passed since that night when the accident occurred. I curse that person who was responsible for that accident every day. If he was not drunk that night, I would have been happily living with my family. I am doing my best to earn as much as I can. Right now, Evelyn is admitted to a very cheap hospital because I don't have enough money to afford her treatment in a good hospital. I wish I had enough money to get her proper treatment.
I open my eyes and look around me. My eyes fall on two men standing outside a room. They are talking in whispers and seem to be in a deep conversation. They seem dangerous because of the aura around them. I don't want them to think that I am staring at them so I stop looking at them.
