DESOLATION

Hello Readers!

Sorry for the extremely extremely late update but I had my reasons. Some days, I did not get time and on some days I could not focus on writing the chapter because of some problems. That's why it took this long to update. 

Thank you to all my readers who showed me support all this time and waited for the update. Thank you for not abandoning my book.

I feel a light touch on my cheeks which unknowingly brings a smile to my face. It feels so good after a long time. My father's face came in front of my eyes and I leaned into the touch.

"Wake up, gealach." The sound invaded my mind and I opened my eyes in an instant. A pair of gray eyes are looking at me intensely. This causes me to sit up abruptly and I move a little away from him on the bed. It was an abrupt reaction and I did not want to move away from him but he is the reason why I reacted like this. The fear he has instilled in me does not let me relax in his presence. (Moonlight)

Seeing him so close to me early in the morning when I just woke up has ruined my morning but sadly from now on all my mornings will be ruined like this.

"What happened?" Lorcan asks me with confusion. I look at him getting out of my thoughts. Sometimes, it is so hard to understand Lorcan. This is not the first time when I flinched from him or backed away from him so I don't understand the reason for his confusion. This man is a puzzle and I don't think I will ever be able to solve it.

His smile has now vanished from his face. I move loose strands of my hair behind my ear and look away from him towards the wall.

"N-Nothing." I barely managed to say. My heart is thumping loudly inside my chest. I did not expect him here. I wish he was not sitting so close to me. Lorcan takes a deep breath and comes a little closer to me. I want to move away from him. It is hard for me to breathe when he is this close to me. Apart from fear, there is one more thing that makes it hard for me to be near him and that is the heat that courses through my veins because of his proximity.

He forwards his hand toward my face and this causes me to close my eyes but he does not stop. His warm hand touched my cheek and he lightly caressed it. These mixed feelings of fear and desire are what I hate.

"I have waited for this day for so long."

I did not say anything. "Open your eyes and look at me, my love." I open my eyes and look into the gray ones. This connection which he makes through his eyes sends a shiver down my spine. His hand starts to move from my cheek to my neck and lower. I cannot move my eyes away from his. It feels like his gray eyes are looking into my soul. My heart started beating fast. His fingers lightly touch the swell of my breast which is visible from my nightgown making my breath hitch.

This is the first time he has touched me here. "The desire to claim you and make you mine is like a fire inside me and only you can stop it," Lorcan said. I broke the intense eye contact and looked away. It feels like my whole body is on fire. I am feeling weird sensations inside me. Lorcan moved a little away from me and sat up straight.

"Although our wedding night did not go as I had expected, still having you in my bed as my lawfully wedded wife is enough to make me forget the sadness of not consummating our marriage last night."

"I... I am s-sorry." These words came out of my mind without any particular reason. He chuckled and looked at me. "What for?"

"I don't know." This is what he has made me. I apologize to him even though I don't know what is my fault. I apologized maybe because I was afraid that he might be angry at me for not letting him consummate the marriage.
