INEZ
"Lorcan, I don't know anything," I said quickly. My mind is in a frenzy. My hands are cold and are shaking. I feel like my soul will leave my body at any moment. His eyes narrowed and if looks could kill, I would have been dead by now. While giving me a deadly glare, he stood up and came towards me. I backed away from him and a whimper escaped from my lips when he took my hand in his.
He made me stand up and with one hand he grabbed my arm while with the other he gripped my chin.
"Who gave you that?" Lorcan asked in a deadly tone. He looked collected but his eyes were speaking everything. He is angry and I may lose my life any moment now. I cannot lie. I have to tell the truth.
"I-I don't kn-ow," I said fearfully. I am not lying. I really don't know who sent that to me. I can tell him about the worker but I don't want to put his life in danger. I don't think Lorcan knows about the worker who gave me the note.
Lorcan looked into my eyes for two seconds and then left my chin but my arm was still in his hands. His vice grip made tears leak out of my eyes. "Please, leave my arm. It's hurting," I cried out when it became impossible for me to bear the pain.
Instead of leaving my hand, he looked at me with a murderous gaze.
"RONAN!" Lorcan shouted while looking into my eyes and I flinched. Lorcan moved a little and then I saw Ronan coming. What shocked me was that behind him, two guards were holding the worker who gave me the note. Fear gripped my heart. Oh God, what have I done? I should have told him about the worker. I looked at Lorcan with pleading eyes. I move towards him and put my hand on his chest. He is still gripping my arm tightly. This action makes him look at me.
"Lorcan, look. I can explain," I quickly said on the verge of crying. Lorcan left my arm and pushed me away from him.
"The time for explanation has ended. You should have known nothing can stay hidden from me," Lorcan said and moved towards Ronan.
"Cé a thug an nóta duit?" Lorcan asked the worker in a deep deadly tone. (Who gave you the note?) I shivered at the intensity of his tone. The worker instead of answering looked towards me. I was looking at him when Lorcan suddenly punched him in his face, making me gasp.
"Don't you dare to look at my wife again or else I will take your eyes out," Lorcan threatened angrily.
"You can hurt me all you want but I will not tell you anything," The worker said and spat on Lorcan's shoes. I gasped and looked at him horrified. He should not have done that.
Lorcan punched him in the face and the sound of bone breaking came. Blood started gushing out of his nose and he screamed. Lorcan took out his gun and shot his leg, making him cry out in pain. I continue to stand there in shock.
Before Lorcan could ask him again he took something out of his pocket and drank it in one go. We were all looking at him and he fell. His body was shaking and then something white came out of his mouth. Was it poison? No, I cannot let him die. I quickly moved towards Lorcan and gripped his shirt.
"Lorcan, he... he is dying. Y-ou should save him," I begged Lorcan as tears spilled out of my eyes. Lorcan's dark eyes moved towards me and I left his shirt. His rageful eyes were directed at me. I was going to take steps away from him when he gripped my arms in a vice grip making me wince.
"Tell me who sent you the note? Who wants to help you by going against me?" Lorcan angrily asked me. I only looked at him miserably.
"Believe me, Lorcan. I don't know," I whimpered while looking at him fearfully but it did nothing to soothe his anger. If anything it only infuriated him further.
