Wondering Rhymes of Love and Solitude
Sometimes I ponder and I wonder,
When will I feel love, like a teenager?
The laughter extreme, the joy so tender,
And the calmest hug, your warmth to render.
I wonder where I might have gone wrong,
As colleagues find love and sing love's song.
Together they dance, a melody strong,
While I'm on my bed, alone and long.
Single life hits, surprisingly lonely,
Agony and bitterness, a feeling homely.
Couples merry, oh, how holy,
Yet, that happiness, I grasp so slowly.
Bitterness flows through me, so gloomy,
Yet, I refuse to dwell in self-pity.
To be bloomy, I'll embrace with glee,
Hoping someone out there will cherish me.
