"DJ stop acting a ass for I take my boot off and hit you with it" I said as we walked through Walmart getting a few things for my new apartment

"I'm bored" he pouted

"Ok and, you have a phone right there use it and leave these damn folks in this store alone and Carter stop telling him to do shit for a laugh or imma tell yo momma" I pointed at my son and nephew

"Tt no we sorry" Carter hugged me with his big smile

"Get off me go get yall blankets" I was walking slow due to me still wearing a boot to help support my leg but allowing me to walk

After recovering from getting shot I've been fine, weekly physical therapy to get my strength back up but good

I completely cut Dom out of my life unless it was about our son, I was done with that lifestyle

Between him, his family, and my brother they drove me crazy and I didn't like myself so I had to change and to change meant to remove

I moved in with my sister and her son in a new apartment. Things have been good so far

"Ooo this soft mama" DJ walked over with a blanket rubbing it as I finally made it to the isle

"Lemme see" I asked grabbing it and feeling it

"It is, but you don't need no white get the blue one up there" I told him and he went to go grab it

"I can't reach it" he said and I went to try to grab it but I was too short

I went to try and grab it one more time as I saw a dark hand grab it making me turn around

"Here you go lil man" he handed the blanket to DJ

"Thank you" DJ replied putting it in the cart

"I was about to grab it" I faced the man

"Well it just looked like you was struggling so I wanted to help" he shrugged off making me look him up and down

"Well I'm not gone be rude so thanks I guess" I began walking back to our basket getting ready to move to the next isle we needed to go to

"My name Herb by the way, I got you if you need anymore help just call" he walked started walking off

"Sit I don't even know you, so how would I even call for your help?"

"The universe got us" he smiled before walking off leaving me blushing

"Ion know if I like him" Carter replied looking up at me making me laugh

"Get yo bad ass out my face Carter" I laughed turning his head as we began walking

We shopped for the rest of the things we needed then checked out before going back home and placing everything in its needed place

"Was Carter a handful" my sister asked as we sat on the couch with our wine

"Now you know they were" I gave her a look before we both laughed

"But girl when DJ was tryna get that blanket none of us could reach it and some dude name herb walked up helping us and said if I need his help again the universe got us" I gave her the run down keeping it short and sweet

"Oop youn got his socials or nun"she asked and I shook my head no

"Sis that's mad weird no lie" she scrunched her face up

"I know but is it weird I like it" I laughed and she shook her head

"Crazy ass" she mumbled chuckling a little

A few seconds later my phone dinged I got a text

Yo! It's herb

"Oh hell no" I blurted out loud

"Whaaaaat?" My sister asked concerned but still being goofy

"I'm scared cause why this nigga just text my number" I showed her and she start cackling

"Don't be scared now, I thought you like crazy lil crazy ass. Gone text back like crazy" she pushed the phone back in my hand making me roll my eyes

I saved his number then proceeded to text him
