"Read to go" Tray asked Vee as he buckled himself up and starting the car she nodded and smiled reaching to hold his hand

The two of them were about to head to a dinner date to start the week off and Friday he was going to take vee to a hotel to finally pop a big question

Vee's mind was honestly all scrambled she had two great men chasing after her everyday but Dame had one up because in the end he was the father of her children and the first real man she ever loved he set standards so high that no one could compare until Tray

Arriving at the restaurant the valet took Tray's keys as they heading inside and were greeting by the hostess who took them to their table. All around them were couples. They seemed to be the youngest ones there but one couple in particular caught Vee's eyes.

"You see that old couple over there?" Tray asked not trying to make it obvious that he was pointing them out

"Mhm" vee smiled as she drunk some wine

"That's gonna be us one day even if it's the lasts thing i do." He said wholeheartedly wanting to spend the rest of his life with vee

Vee's smiled slowly faded, she didn't know how to process those words being said because she liked trey but she also was falling back in love with Damien over the lasts 6 months that he had been around

Then that's when it hit her, the couple that caught her eye was dame and another girl. Her shattered as she tried to push down her emotions but true still noticed

"You ok?' He asked seeing she wasn't eating Vee nodded and smiled not wanting to alarm him and took another bite

She quickly changed the subject and began talking about work life and seeing how Tray's daughter Kailani, which made the conversation flow and they started bouncing from topic to topic

Towards the end of the date Dame and his date were leaving and they had to walk past Vee's table to do so

"Ok, dont get awkward one me and dont look but Ky's dad is here on a date and about to walk this way just keeping eating" Vee said and Tray look at her confused but shrugged off his questions behind it

"Oh shit, What you doing here Vee?' Dame asked seeing her making him and the girl he was on a date with stop at their table

"On a date" she said somewhat nonchalantly gesturing towards Tray

"Oh so this is Tray? Look im dame nice to finally meet you i hope she not being boring or tryna kill you" he said and Vee gave him one of the meanest looks ever

"Nah we good" Tray said realizing why Vee didn't want them to meet

"Oh shit my bad. Vee this Cali, Cali Vee. This is my sons mom" Cali waved so vee did the same

This had been one of the most awkward and embarrassing interactions Avayah has ever had in her life

"We'll we gone head out got one more location to head to before the night end but enjoy the rest of your night and ill see you tomorrow at family dinner" Vayah put her head in her hands as they walked away because she hadn't told Tray about the family dinner yet due to the plans being last minute

"I-nope. You ready to go" Tray cut her off and she nodded

Tray paid for dinner and continued to be a gentle man. Holding her hand, and opening doors. The car ride to her house was silent.

"I'm sorry for his behavior, he can be a lot to handle but i promise he meant no harm." Tried to lighten the mood

"When were you going to tell me about 'family dinner'" h e asked stopping at a red light

" i dont know it kinda slipped my mind, plus it was lasts minute. They literally just told me today." She tried to explain but Tray still felt off about it

"So dont go and we can still have our plans for tomorrow or at least the movie" he asked as he pulled up to her townhome

"I can't it's a tradition we do every time both of our families get together, it's mostly for Ky but the adults enjoy it just as much we just dont like to admit it." She gave a slight smiled and Tray sat there in silence comprehending it all

"I'll call you tomorrow. Ok?" Vee said and he nodded Avayah gave him a kiss on the cheek then went inside and threw her things on the counter frustrated at the situation that just happened and angry at dame for putting here in that situation.
