"If it isn't the daughter we forgot we raised" Avayahs dad joked

"Ok momma get your husband" Braxton grabbed Ky from his daughters arms while laughing

"Braxton leave the girl alone and give me my grand baby" she took Ky from his arms

"Look here Rosie I had him first now you not bout to just come over here like your running stuff" Braxton took him back making Avayah laugh at the bickering

"And we're not about to pass my baby around like he's not a human" Avayah told the two of them as she eyed them

"You right but what brings you by" rose asked as the family sat in the living room

"We'll we just got back in town and I honestly don't know what's going on with me and Damien it's like one minute we good and the next everything is on the line. Not to mention he's been keeping secret after secret and telling lie after lie. It's like too much too fast all at once" Avayah expressed to her parents

"I'mma let y'all talk and we're gonna to eat some apple sauce" Braxton took Ky into the kitchen allowing his wife and daughter to have a moment alone

"Well is he cheating?" Rosie asked and Avayah looked at her mama side ways

"Momma no never"

"We'll I had to asks, baby you love him right" Avayah nodded at her mothers question

"And it's no doubt about it that he loves you and Ky man, this is just a bump in the rode a test of faith if you will. Now you could either let it pull you apart and break you and crumble down or you can lean onto each other and god and let him handle it. It's all up to you and your faith in the end baby, but without god at the center it won't get better" her mother voiced and Avayah heard every word

She knew what her mom was saying was right she just didn't want to give in and say it

"I also came to give y'all an update on his party" Avayah changed the subject

"It's zoo/ safari themed and we're gonna have a few animals there so please don't dress too cute cause we want everybody to at least feed or touch one animal for a picture. It's gonna be at his parents place since they have land big enough for everything"

"Same date and time" she nodded

"I heard you went to see your brother too, he alright out there"

"More then alright. That boy his living his best life, momma I promise I've never seen him more happy in his life. He's at peace and you can tell" she told her as a smile brushed across her face

"We'll I'm glad. That's all I ever wanted for you and your brother, no matter how long it took you to get there" Rosie spoke as her and her daughter soaked in the words she said

"Oh you coming to the church anniversary Sunday" it took Avayah a minute to think about it

"Yes momma I'll come, I don't know about Damien but I'll make sure Ky and I are there for you and daddy" she warmed her mothers heart with those words

"Remember what I said now baby, let go and let god by putting him at the center of this situation pray, pray and pray and I promise you'll know what to do when it comes to you and Dame" they hugged before Avayah left going home to seeing dame asleep on the couch while the tv had a football game playing

"Planning a party is so stressful" Avayah expressed as her and dame were trying to pick out Ky's party desserts

"You got it, I believe in you" dame massaged her shoulder and she blew air trying to destress

"Oh my parents church anniversary is this Sunday and they asked me if you wanted to come?" There was a moment of silence as dame took a sip off water

"I think I'll stay home, I never really been religious or too fond of churches. But you and Ky can go enjoy yourselves" dame kissed her cheek looking at more of the dessert options

That wasn't the answer that Vee wanted and he knew it, Dame just felt that he would be judged inside the church because of who he was and how he was raised

He was used to being judged by them but it was a different feeling when he was judged in front of his family it made him feel insecure within himself whether he liked to admit it or not

Avayah knew that this was a make or break for them based off the conversation she and with her mother, she knew that putting god at the center of them was the only thing that could help and Damien denying that based off his own ego showed that he wasn't ready

It showed that they were in two different places in their lives. Damien had too much going on and Avayah didn't have time to sit around and wait for him to fix his priorities

Avayah had been praying and praying wishing for a sign from god. She was reading my her Bible again more faithfully and was healing everything from her pasts

She went from being confused and hurt to at peace with everything that had happened to her in the pasts two years

She realized she simply wanted better with her and Ky and part of that was going back to her roots and leaning on god
