Alone and Unwanted (No longer writing)

Month 7 Day 2

I took a deep breath in and knocked on Jarod's door.

Oh God.

What if he gets so mad?

What if he flips out?

What if he hits me again?

What if-

My thoughts were interrupted as the door in front of me opened.

"Tavern!" Jarod said, surprised.

"Hey, c-can w-we talk?" I asked.

He nodded and let me in his room.

I've never been in his room before.

It was surprisingly clean and it had Greenday posters on the walls. Huh, he must be a fan.

"What did you wanna talk about?" he asked.

I swallowed hard before speaking.

"Remember that day we....... you know," I began.

He chuckled and nodded.

"Well........ I don't think either of us had protection and.......well."

"Go on," he encouraged.

"I'm pregnant."

I waited for the yelling and screaming.

Instead, Jarod picked me up and spun me around.

"Oh my gosh! We're going to have baby!" he exclaimed, smiling and laughing.

Well, that was unexpected.

When he put me on the ground, I asked," You're not mad?"

"Of course not!"

"Sorry, I just thought you were gonna yell and scream at me."

"Now why would I do that?"

"Because Nate did."

That made him become silent.

I saw the hurt in his eyes. He let go of my hand that he was holding. He sat on the bed and put his face in his hands.

"I'm not Nate," he said.

"I know. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said that."

Jarod gave me a half smile and held out his hand to me.

I took it and sat next to him on the bed.

"Since when have you known?" he asked.

"Yesterday," I replied.

"Do you want it?"

I stood up.

"Of course I do!"

"Sorry. I just didn't think you didn't want it after all this time."

"I'll always want my kids. Even if their father isn't there for them."

"Know that I will be there for our child."

Our child.

Jarod leaned in and kissed me.

Great moment.
