"She's an engaged woman!" Rosé stated, barging into her apartment so abruptly that Lisa nearly dropped her wine glass.
"Careful Rosie! These sweats are white!" Lisa whined. Rosé huffed before plopping beside her on the couch, her eyes narrowing at her,
"She. Is. An. Engaged. Woman." She emphasized her words obnoxiously. Lisa rolled her eyes and placed the wine glass on the coffee table,
"You act like I don't know."
"Well with the way you're both acting, it seems like someone has to be reminded." Lisa stared at her like she was insane,
"And how exactly are we acting?"
Rosé feigned a look of thoughtfulness while humming dramatically, "Hmm I don't know maybe like you're her fiancé," she flicked her forehead.
Lisa hissed and rubbed her forehead, "Not true." She reasoned in annoyance, "She's just my..." she hesitated, thinking. Rosé raised a brow and crossed her arms,
"Your?"
Lisa sighed, "She's my best friend. Nothing more. Nothing less." Rosé chuckled humorlessly,
"Best friends don't get jealous the way she did." Lisa grew confused,
"Jealous? Who was jealous?"
Rosé lifted up her arms in defeat, "How oblivious could you be? That girl does not see you like you're her best friend. I mean, did you see the way she acted when she thought I was your mysterious lover?" Rosé shuddered and gagged. Lisa groaned and nudged Rosé by her shoulders,
"She was not jealous!"
"Yeah, keep telling yourself that."
It grew quiet before Rosé sighed sadly, "Look, I'm not accusing you in any way. I just want to know that you're being careful."
Lisa stood up and took the wine glass, "What's there to be careful about? We're just best friends."
"Right."
Best friends my ass.
Lisa sat on a bench right outside the hotel. Her eyes stared at the box of cigarettes in her hand as the other fiddled with the lighter. She sniffled and wiped a tear with the back of her hand and hissed. The ache in her chest had yet to subside.
She didn't know how long she had been sitting outside for but the air was chilly and the sun was gone. Groaning, she pocketed her cigarettes and played with her lighter watching the flames light up and go off in the same second, over and over again.
Lisa hated the need to touch Jennie again, the memory of her eyes and whispers burned in her. It was perfect yet there she was crying because she didn't have the strength to face what she had done with an engaged woman.
Suddenly, a car pulled up, the headlights blinding her for a second. She narrowed her eyes and blocked the light with her hand as the person pulled to a stop and stepped out of the car. The lights dimmed and she met the eyes of Jisoo. She was smiling sadly and sighed.
Lisa sagged her shoulders and sighed as well.
"Thanks for picking me up," Lisa said, ready to place her seat belt on...
"That's not what I'm doing."
Lisa stilled. "What?" She asked leaning back on her seat and staring at Jisoo with questioning eyes but Jisoo remained staring forward,
"You're not running away from this."
Lisa was beyond confused and, in all honesty, frustrated.
"What do you mean running away? That's not what I'm doing," Lisa angrily reasoned, fury slithering in her veins. "What I'm doing is stepping away from the inevitable!" Jisoo sighed, shaking her, annoying Lisa even more.
