|Jerome's POV|

I stared in shock at the TV as Mitch talked to Mat. This isn't happening, I thought. Emma has to be okay. Please. For everything good in this world, she has to be okay, I prayed. "Jerome? We need to go." Mitch said. He had tears in his cheeks, and had his phone clutched tight in his hand. I nodded, and we grabbed our stuff, -Well, our shirts and shoes- and jumped into my car.

We drove to Mitch's house, and from there he directed me towards Emma's. He let out a small whimper when we turned onto Emma's street, and police cars and ambulances lined the road. "No.... No, please God no..." Mitch whispered, mostly to himself. I parked down the road, and before I even had a chance to stop the car, Mitch was running down the street. I quickly followed him, sprinting down the road. We stopped behind a police man and looked over the scene. I grabbed Mitch's hand, and when he glanced at me, I saw something. In his eyes. A mix of not just sadness and worry, but pure hatred.

Switch: Mitch's POV

I ran from Jerome's car before he even completely stopped it. I dashed down the street and stopped behind a police man, practically jumping to see over the cars. I almost burst into tears.

I always needed time on my own, i never thought I'd, need you there when I cry. And the days feel like years when I'm alone, and the bed where you lie, is made up on your side.

Emma's car was completely smashed, and I could see dots of red. The paramedics were trying to get her out still, and the police swarmed another area, presumably where the other car was. When I looked to where they were, my heart stopped. Almost literally. "No.... No, please God no..." I stuttered, and then Jerome was by my side, hand in mine. I glanced at him quick, before separating my hand and running past the policemen, to the second car. Bit this wasn't any old car. I knew the model, the license plate, the driver.

"Son, you can't be here, this-" I cut the police man off. "That girl? My best friend. That man? Well, not anymore, but he was my father."

(A/N: I'm sorry)

"Mitchell? What are you... doing here?" The monster asked as I walked into his vision, hiccuping in the middle. "Can I... Do you mind if I yell?" I turned to a police officer, who gave me a small smile. "Kid, what you do is probably a thousand times less what I'll do. Just don't get violent." He answered, stepping back. I Nodded my thanks. "Mitchell?" The man asked again. "Don't even say my damn name." I mumbled. "But-" "Shut up! Look around, you bastard! Are you fucking happy? My best friend could be... Could be dead! And who's goddamn fault is that? Your drunken ass! You've hurt to many damn people, and when these guys drag your ass to prison, I'm not getting you out. Mom isn't getting you out. We'll be free. Free! No more abuse from you, you fucking asshole! Look at this!" I screamed, and the police were surely taken back by my sudden outburst. The same cop who let me yell came back to my side. "Did you say abuse? Is him being drunk a regular thing?" He asked quietly. I nodded quickly. "Almost every night. My mother and I fell victim." I answered. "That's it, take him." The guy signaled to a few others, who grabbed my father and pulled him into a police car. "You Okay, kid?" The police man asked. "No. No I'm not. How did he hit her?" I asked. She was crossing the intersection. Came flying down, slammed right into her. She flung into the trees. She was on the phone with that girl over there," he pointed to Hope, who I silently thanked. "And she called us." The man explained. "Thank you very much sir." I said, looking down at my feet. Suddenly, a different am called across the whole scene. "We got her!"

When you walk away, I count the steps that you take. Do you see how much I need you right now?

When you're gone, the pieces of my heart are missing you. When you're gone, the face I came to know is missing too. When you're gone, the words I need to hear always get me through the day, and make it okay, I miss you.

I sprinted to where everyone else was; Jerome, Hope, Victory, and Brandon and Mat who had just now arrived. Emma's mother was there too. I pushed past a police man or two to see Emma, bruised, cut, and bloody, being carried on a stretched towards the hospital. Brandon was in tears, Mat was extremely pale, Hope and Vic were crying onto each other's shoulders. Mrs. Cath was walking along side the stretcher, gripping Emma's hand. "Emma, baby girl, please please please don't give up on me." She was saying as I walked over. "We're bringing her to the hospital. You can come ma'am, but not the kids." a paramedic said to Mrs. Cath. She turned to us. "I'll see you there." She said, and jumped into the ambulance.

As they pulled away, the gravity of the situation finally hit me, and I dropped to my knees. Jerome dropped to my side, and Mat walked over to me too. "Not like this." I muttered, mostly to myself. "C'mon biggums, we have to go the hospital. And call the others." Jerome said, rubbing my back. "Take Brandon. I'll talk to the others." Mat said, pulling out his phone as he turned to his car. Jerome helped me off the ground and started back towards his car. I went over to Brandon, and put a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me, cheeks tear-stained and eyes puffy. Then I threw my arms around him, and he hugged back. "Are you okay?" He softly whispered. "Are you?" I answered. He shook his head. "Neither am I."

::A/N::
This kinda sucks. Had no idea what to do for a song, so I literally looked up heartbreak songs. And this one for some reason made me all nostalgic. Also, I'm sorry this was late. I was going through some shit with my friends, I had a party, and I woke up sick this morning. Well I hope you all enjoyed anyway, much love as always, and until next chapter, ~Rosie <3
