=Mitch's POV=

<Time skip #1: Beginning of school!>

Today was the day. My first day. My first day of college. A new school, new people, new everything. But I did have someone. Vikk. He was my roommate, my best and only friend so far at this stupid school. Jerome was home -or at least closer to it then I was- at the nearest major university. Vikk and I managed to stay together, as the rest of the Pack spread across the country. Rob was home with Jerome. Preston, Em and Jason were in Texas. Lachlan and ended up in Florida with Meg. Brandon and Kenny were in California. Mat was in Massachusetts. Vic was in Arizona. Hope went to New Jersey. And Vikk and I were in Seattle. It was tough.

I walked alongside Vikk to one of the buildings where our classes were. "Ready, Mitch?" He asked. "I miss Jerome." I answered, and he sighed. "And I miss Lachy. But we've gotta do well for them, because they're doing well for us. We can't fail this, Mitch. It'll be the foundation to starting our lives with them, you know?" Vikk said, making hand gestures in front of him. "Of course. But I still miss him. And the others." I replied. He sighed again. "Me too, Mitch. Me too."

<Time Skip #2: Winter break!>

"When's Lachy coming, Vikk?" I asked, grinning as Vikk paced around our dorm room. "His flight lands in... an hour and a half, just about." Vikk said. "Why are you so nervous?" I asked, and he fell back onto his bed. "If I'm honest... I have no idea. I just haven't seen him in so long... I can't even believe he's coming here." Vikk said, and I could see him smiling like an idiot. "Aw, lovesick Vikky misses his little Lachy." I teased, and he glared at me, but then his face softened. "I can't even say you're wrong..." He said, flashing a small smile at me. "Go get your Lachy, Vikk!" I got up from my desk chair and pulled Vikk's arms so that he stood up straight, and then I pushed him towards the door. "He still doesn't land for like, an hour and twenty minutes, Mitch." Vikk said. "But what if there's traffic? Or the plane is a bit early? Or-" "You just want me gone, dontcha?" Vikk cut me off, laughing a little. "Hey, he may be your boyfriend, but I miss little Lachy. I don't want you to be late, I wanna see him as soon as I can." I answered. "Fine. Whatever, I'll be back with Lachlan in about two hours." Vikk said, picking up his keys and opening the door. "I wanna come, but I'm afraid of a Vikklan make out session reunion." I said, using the ship name Victory and I made up a while ago. "Shut up. I walked in on you and Jerome that one time, and I'm pretty sure you were about to-" "Stop! I get it. Haha. Whatever." Vikk smirked, before walking out and closing the door behind him. I sighed, remembering my boyfriend, who was all the way across the country. I missed him like crazy, but I was here because of him.

~~FlashBack~~

"Hey, Mama." I greeted as I walked into my house. "Hi Mitchy, hi Jerome!" She answered, seeing Jerome by my side. "Mitchy, I think there's something on the kitchen table for ya." Mom said with a smirk, pointing over her shoulder. I gave her a skeptical smile, and she nodded. "What did you do?" I asked as I started walking towards the kitchen. "Nothing! It's more what you did." I gave her a strange look again, but went into the kitchen, Jerome close behind me.

On the table was a letter, addressed to me. I turned the envelope around in my hands, before a label caught my eye. "No." I muttered, and tore open the envelope. I pulled out a paper and started reading. "No, no no. No way. This isn't happening." I mumbled as I kept going. "What is it?" Jerome asked. I finished reading the page and handed it to him, and fell into a chair with shock. I was going to college.

"Oh my God, Mitch!" Jerome cheered, setting the letter down and hugging me tight. "That's amazing! Congratulations!" He exclaimed. I couldn't speak, I was so surprised. I was going to college, I would be able to actually succeed in life, I was going across the country... Away from Jerome. Away from my mom. Away from everything I've ever known.
