|Jerome's POV|

I told my entire story, from the start of our game playing to the last minutes Mitch was here. Preston's jaw was dropped half the time, and Lachlan had an amused smirk on his face. When I finally finished, Lachlan slapped my shoulder. "Way to go, dood!" He cheered. Preston clearly was in some state of shock, so I reached behind me, grabbed my pillow and smacked him in the stomach with it. He groaned, and sat up. "Are you guys... like, an official couple now?" He asked. I shrugged. "I didn't actually ask him out, but I don't know." I answered. Preston frowned, and flopped back onto the bed. "Boys...?" Lachlan said, barely above a whisper. "Yeah, Lachy? You okay there?" I asked. He slowly nodded. "Um... God this is hard, even though you won't care." He said. I put a hand on his shoulder. "What ever you've gotta say, just say it buddy." I gave him a small smile. He sighed, closed his eyes, and nodded. "Okay," he breathed. "I hate to take the spotlight off of Jerome here, but..." He stopped himself, but I waved for him to continue. Preston had sat up again, and was giving Lachlan a questioning look. Lachlan looked up at the ceiling, and took a deep breath. "I think Jerome and I have the same secret."

This time, Preston's wasn't the only jaw to drop. "You mean...?" Preston asked, eyes wide and smile growing. "No way!" I cheered, and tackled him in a hug. We both fell out of the chair, and hit the ground laughing. "Are you serious, Lachy?" Preston asked, pulling both of us off the ground. "Yeah, I mean... I like someone... But it's not gonna happen. He'd... never notice me." Lachlan was still barely talking above a whisper. "I'm so proud of you, Lachy. It probably took a lot just to tell us." I said, remembering when I told the two of them, and Brandon. "Yeah, man. But I do have a question. Who's the special guy?" Preston grinned and winked. "Do you really wanna know, because I don't think you do." Lachlan answered, avoiding eye contact with both of us. "C'mon, it can't be that bad. It-" "Oh, it's that bad." Lachlan cut me off. He sighed and looked down, and Preston and I exchanged a look, a little bit worry, but mostly curiosity. "Lachy, come on, tell us!" Preston whined. Lachlan looked up at us, clearly considering. "Okay... okay. Just, don't tell anyone. Or I swear-" "We get it. We won't tell, now spit it out, dood!" Preston urged. Lachlan looked at us both, then back to the ground. "Vikk."

Again, both mine and Preston's mouths fell open. "You like Vikk?" Preston asked, barely audible. "It's awful!" He cried out. "I'm in love with my best friend. Plus he's straight. And the cherry on top; He's got an amazing girlfriend, who he loves more then anyone." Lachlan hung his head in his hands. Preston just gave Lachlan a sad look, and I rubbed his back. "In love?" I repeated his words. "God, it's been forever since I realized, but I convinced myself I was being dumb, I couldn't live my best friend. But... I do." He sighed. I felt sorry for him, seeing how upset he was. And I wanted to say is help him, but that means Vikk breaking up with Victory. I couldn't do that. "I'm sorry Lachy, I wish I could help somehow..." Preston sighed, sitting on my bed again. "It's okay. It's useless, but I couldn't stop it if I wanted to. I'll live with it." He said, standing up. I hugged him tight. "I'm sorry dood." I said. "Nah, Ill be fine. Nothing to be sorry about mate." He assured me. But when I looked up at him, I saw sadness in his eyes, and it hurt that I couldn't do anything to help him.

----------------

"Night boys, I'm about to crash." Preston stood up and walked out of the living room towards the stairs. My parents let us have the living room so we could watch a movie or something, but now it was close to one in the morning. "I'm headed up too, it's been quite the day." Lachlan added. "I'm coming with then." I followed them upstairs back into my room, where Preston had already stolen a blanket off my bed and was making a small bed on the floor. I climbed over him and onto my bed, then threw Lachlan another blanket. He started arranging it like Preston was, and I slipped under the covers I had left. I put one earbud in and plugged them into my phone, and put the radio on again. I had to have some background noise to fall asleep, and I didn't want to disturb Preston and Lachlan with it. "Night doods." I said, then turned away, music taking over until I finally drifted to sleep.

I hate to turn up out of the blue, uninvited, but I couldnt stay away, I couldn't fight it. I had hoped that you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded that for me, it isn't over.

Never mind I'll find, someone like you. I wish nothing but the best for you, too. Don't forget me, I beg, I remember you said, sometimes it lasts in love, but sometimes it hurts instead.

Nothing compares, no worries or cares, they're memories made. Who would've know how bittersweet this would taste?
