=Mitch's POV=
I snuck into the back fields of our school, and hid behind rows of bleachers. I made my way to the opposite side, trying to stay out of sight. When the coast was clear, I snuck into the forest that was around the edges of the practice field. I climbed up my usual tree, and made it to the top branch. I loved this place. It was like my little home. I could see the sunsets, I could listen to music in peace, I could watch Jerome's football team practicing. No, Jerome wasn't the main reason I loved it. My favorite part was the fact that I wouldn't be bothered with my music. So here I was watching the sun fall in the sky, and high schoolers repeatedly hit each other in the head. It was a grand time.
I watched the quarterback throw the football to his best receiver, who always was open and ready for a run to the end zone. The receiver dodged tackle after tackle, and eventually found himself scoring six points. His teammates came up and high fived him, the coach blew his whistle, the the receiver took his helmet off. I could almost see the sparkle in Jerome's eyes from here as the coach praised him for the run. When the coach dismissed the team to then locker room, Jerome stopped at the fifty yard line, tying his cleat, letting all the other players pass him. Once the players were gone, he stood and looked behind him. Towards the woods. Towards me. He stared for a moment, and I slid back on the branch a bit, trying to hide myself, just in case. I saw him shake his head, then run to catch up to his teammates.
My head is stuck in the clouds, she begs me to some down, says 'boy, quit fooling around.'
I told her, I love the view from up here, warm sun, and wind in my ear. We'll watch the world from above, as it turns to the rhythm of love
Play the music low, and sweep to the rhythm of love
I slid down from the tree, voices still singing in my ears, and started my walk home. I only lived a few blocks from school, so it wasn't worth driving. I focused on the lyrics of the song and putting know foot in front of the other.
Finally, I made it home, and hopped up my front porch. I opened the door and called out to my mother. "Hey mom, I'm home!" I yelled, and dropped my stuff by the door. "Hey Mitchy! How was school?" She asked, coming into the living room from the kitchen. "The usual." I shrugged. "Your father won't be home tonight. He's going on a business trip for the next five days." She was trying not to sound happy. I couldn't blame her. My father wasn't just abusive to me. My mom had fallen victim too. "Just you and me then, huh?" I smiled at her. "Just you and me." She repeated, giving me a hug. "I love you Mitchy." She said. "Love you too, Mom."

Hai Rosebuds, hope you enjoyed my second chapter. I have to clarify a few things before I continue the story. One being, Mitch doesn't have siblings in this story. I know he has three in real life, but this isn't real life lol XD. Two, Jerome will be playing American football. Not soccer. Sorry to everyone who has no idea what American football is, but it's a sport I know a lot about. Anyway, thanks for reading guys, much love and until next chapter, ~RosieP.S.
