Chapter 20: Dark Star

+Preston's POV+

As soon as Vikk took Lachlan behind the gate, Jerome gave me the most devious smirk I've ever seen him give. "He gonna get dat." He said, making me burst out laughing. After a few minutes, I calmed down and took a sip of my drink. That was a mistake. "Seriously, just wait for the moans." Jerome commented. I spat my drink all over him, and neither of us could control our laughter. "You did not just spit that all over me!" He yelled. "I-I am so so-rry!" I choked between laughs. We finally pulled ourselves together right as Vikk and Lachlan came back. Vikk went back to Victory, and Lachlan dropped to between Jerome and me. "So..." I started, not sure where I was going. "Didn't hear anything back there." Jerome said, making me choke again. "He just... it was nothing. He was upset with Vic and wanted my advice." Lachlan said, shooting a quick glare at Jerome. "You sure?" Jerome asked, dragging it out. "Would I be this calm if I wasn't?" Lachlan answered. "He's got a point." I commented. "Fine. I believe you for now." Jerome said, but I could still see the smirk.

After a few minutes, Jerome sighed and looked at us. "Boys... I wanna tell them today." He said, awaiting approval. Lachlan nodded. "Go for it. It's about time they know." He encouraged. "Do it. They'd find out eventually, better sooner rather then later." I said. Jerome took a deep breath then stood up. "I'll talk to Mitch, pull Vic and Vikk over to the others, and I'll do it." he said. He offered his hand and pulled me up. "You can do it." I assured. "Thanks, I know." He grinned, then went to talk to Mitch. I lifted Lachlan off the ground, and nodded like we'd both just received some signal. He smiled and nodded back, and we went on our way.

The nine of us were all sitting in front of or along the fence between my house and a neighbors, waiting for Mitch and Jerome to come back. When the did, Mitch looked super panicked but Jerome seemed calm. "Kay then. This is kinda hard for me, but..." Jerome didn't wait to get straight to the point, and Mitch had a hand on his shoulder. "Well, I'm gonna cut straight to it. I'm gay." He paused to see the looks on our friends faces. I looked around. Brandon and Emma flashed a smile, Rob and Vikk seemed taken back, Mat was flat out confused, Emily, Vic, and Hope just took in the words. "Plus," Jerome added. "Mitch is my boyfriend." Emma let out a small cheer, and Mitch grinned at her. "Wait what?" Mat finally got it, and clearly wasn't processing it. "I. Am. Dating. Mitch." Jerome repeated, slowly. "Oh. Congratulations!" He smiled. "Thanks." Jerome have him a 'You're an idiot, but love you bro' look. Vic looked at the silently-cheering Emma, then to Mitch and Jerome, then over everyone else. She nodded. "Merome!" She yelled. Both Mitch and Jerome have her a sideways glance. "Merome. It's Mitch and Jerome combined." she explained. "Merome!" Emily shouted. "Merome!" Vikk and I added at the same time. "Well then. Glad that's over with." Jerome smiled, and slipped his hand into Mitch's. Rob was the first to get up. He walked past everyone and straight to Mitch and Jerome. I stood up quick. Rob has never been one to get upset, but he hadn't said a word this entire time. Unsure of what Rob was doing, I watched. He threw his arms around both of them at the same time. "I'm so happy right now, you don't even know." He said, beaming.

Now I don't love like I used to, but I've got stories I could tell you, if I want to.

Jerome grinned. "Believe me, I know." he shot a quick glance to Lachlan and Vikk, who were sitting side by side, and then to me. I returned the smirk. "Crap! Hope, Vic, Meg and Kaitlyn have been waiting at the mall for ten minutes! We've gotta go!" Emily said, typing on her phone as she stood up. "Sorry guys, we're meeting friends. Thanks Preston, see you guys later!" Hope smiled. Emily went and gave Rob a quick kiss goodbye, and Vic did the same to Vikk, whispering something to him. Vikk nodded and smiled in return. "Bye girls!" Emma waved. They waved back, and walked out the front gate. "Uh, Jerome?" Mitch asked, and pulled him aside. "Emma and I are gonna go, thanks Preston." Brandon smiled, and I nodded. "No problem, see you guys later!" I said, and Brandon helped Emma off the ground and they were off. "Mama Nooch needs the bot home, I'm out!" Mat waved, and ran out into the front yard. "Mitch and I are heading out too, gotta meet the parents." Jerome said, taking Mitch's hand again. "Parent." Mitch corrected. "Oh, I'm sorry Mitch." I said, giving him a sad smile. "Oh no, both my parents are alive and all, but only my mom is home tonight." Mitch explained. "Oh. Oops." I said. "Nah, all good. See you guys later!" He waved, and he and Jerome walked away hand in hand. I looked to Rob, Vikk, and Lachlan. "Wanna play some video games?"

The all nodded. "Lachlan! Carry me!" Vikk pleaded, dragging out every word. Lachlan sighed but smiled. "Fine, fine." He lifted Vikk up off the ground and carried him towards my house, bridal style. "Preston!" Rob jumped on my back. "Carry me too?" He asked, hopeful. "No! You aren't my boyfriend!" I pushed him off, and he frowned as he hit the ground. Vikk and Lachlan both turned and glared at me, to which I smugly smiled. "Please?" Rob asked, still sitting on the dirt. "Ugh, only because I love you." I sighed, lifting Rob into my back. "And you said you weren't his boyfriend!" Vikk yelled back. I glared, even though he wasn't looking at me. "Am I that bad?" Rob asked, laughing. "Of course not, Robby." I answered. "Thanks dood." He rested his head on my shoulder as I carried him through the door.

Yesterday and today have been sorta rough, this girl started bitching at me for no reason, and my best friend is struggling through a relationship because her "Boyfriend" said he "Might like someone else."
