Ingredients:-
Water - 2-3 litres.
Barley - 3/4 cup, soaked overnight.
Wheat - 1 & 1/4 cup , soaked overnight.
Baking soda - 1/2 tsp.
Oil - 2-3 tbs.
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp.
Boneless chicken - 1/2 kg.
Red chilli powder - 1 tbs or to taste.
Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp.
Turmeric powder - 1 tbs.
Green chilli chopped - 1 tbs.
Salt - 1 & 1/2 tsp or to taste.
Yogurt - 1 cup.
Onion fried - 3 tbs.
Chicken cubes - 2.
Salt if required.
Water boiled (optional).
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp.
Nutmeg & mace powder - 1/2 tsp.
Chat masala as required.
Oil.
Onion sliced - 1.
Fried onions.
Green chilli.
Green coriander.
Chat masala - 1 tsp or as required.
Lemon.
Method:-
In pot, add water, barley, wheat, & bring it to boil, let it simmer for 30 minutes.....
Add baking soda, cover & cook till tender ( 1 & 1/2 hour).....
In wok, add oil, ginger garlic paste, boneless chicken, fry until it changes colour.....
Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, green chilli, salt, yogurt, & cook until chicken is done.....
Add fried onions, mix well, shred cooked chicken & set aside.....
Blend barley, & wheat mixture until smooth, add cooked chicken & chicken cubes, mix until well combined.....
Add salt & boiled water if haleem is too thick & blend again.....
Add whole spice powder, nutmeg & mace powder, & chaat masala.....
In frying pan, add oil & onion, fry until golden brown......
Add fried onion in haleem mixture, & mix well.....
For garnishing, add fried onions, green chilli, green coriander, ginger, chaat masala, & lemon juice.....
Serve hot....
