Michael and I pretty much spent the whole day playing hooky and hanging out in town. I haven't heard from Luke in a few hours but he's at the wedding so I didn't mind. The morning was a little chilly, and the neighborhood was quite empty. It seemed like without teens and children this place would be boring as fuck. Bet adults wouldn't be as happy as they say they would be if teens didn't exist.

Michael dropped me off at home and went off back to his house. I was happy my best friend was finally in the same country as me again. So I went home happy. "Mom?" I called out hoping I would hear an answer. I walked up to my room and heard some rustling in my parents room. So I walked in and I saw my asshole father going through his clothing and throwing them in a suitcase. "Finally leaving?" I asked resting against the door frame with my arms crossed. "Got your wish." He sighed zipping up his suitcase. "Guess there is a God, yeah? He finally answered my prayer." I smirked. "Move, asswipe. I'm leaving." He said pushing me over to the side and going down the stairs. Mom was most likely at work so I'll tell her the news when she comes home..although she'll probably notice by the lack of clothes.

I went to my room and closed my door. I took off my shoes and threw myself on my bed, bundling myself up in covers considering my air conditioner made my house cold. I was going through my phone and social media and saw a small green banner saying 'Luke' show up at the top of my screen. I dragged it down and saw it said, 'wedding was boring. some girl asked me to dance with her and it was really weird because i stepped on her foot by accident and she didnt wanna dance with me again after that..' I laughed to myself a bit because I knew how awkward he is, and probably was. I typed in, 'lol where are you?' I clicked send and received an automatic text back. 'Driving home by myself. can i come over? i have a change of clothes in my trunk, ill change in your bathroom if thats ok?' I hesitated before typing in a 'sure.' and clicked off my phone.

I pulled out some of my favorite Disney movies including Peter Pan and The Little Mermaid and set them on my small coffee table in front of my mini TV I had in my room and sat on my small couch I had in front of the television and was reading a bit of a novel I had to finish for school. I heard a 'ding' and clicked open my phone and checked my messages and saw Luke texted me. 'Come outside, lil.' I stood up and ran downstairs and opened the front door to see Luke standing right there. He looked good with his quiffed up hair, and tux. He had a bag in his hand, and his other hand behind his back. "Come in, doof." I laughed before backing up away from the door. "Close it behind you." I said as he walked in. "Hey, Lily. Come here a sec." He said chuckling. I walked over to him and looked at him confused. "Yeah?" I asked. He took my hand and opened it placing a small seashell in it, and closing my fingers over it. "What is it with you and seashells all the time?" I chuckled before opening my hand open and looking at it. It had been blue with a few tiny scratches. Almost near perfect.

"I like giving you seashells." He said. "Where's your bathroom?" He asked looking around my house. "Down the hall, first door on the right." I said as I saw him walk to the bathroom and close the door. It was a few moments before he walked out in a pair of grey sweats and a black short sleeve shirt. "You look comfortable." I laughed as he walked towards me. "I am." He chuckled. "Let's go upstairs. I have some movies that we can watch." I said as I started heading up the stairs with him.

We went upstairs to my room and he lied down on my mini couch. He was so tall his legs went over the whole couch. I frowned, "Where am I supposed to sit? On your head?" He looked at me and gave me a weird look and started laughing. "You know it wasn't meant to sound like that. Come on, sit up so I can sit too." I said turning my back to him and picking up the DVD's off the table. "Peter pan or the mermaid movie?" I asked holding up both movies. "Well what's your favorite? I'm pretty sure you told me it was Peter pan right?" He cocked his head slightly and chuckled. "Yeah but you're my guest so I can't hog the TV if you're not willing to watch the same thing." I said. "Put on Peter pan. I like that movie too." He tilted his head back and sat up. "Wise answer, young one." I laughed as I put in the DVD in. "I'm older then you." He looked at me and said. I laughed, "Yeah but still." I made no sense, I need to hush. I sat next to him and grasped my phone in my hand. I was going through my phone while all the commercials were passing by.

Luke was caught up in all the commercials and I was texting Michael a bit before the movie started.

Michael: are you busy i miss u

Me: im with luke right now lol, we're watching peter pan

Michael: ;)))))))))

Me: not like that.

Michael: i know im kidddding

"Are you going with Michael to prom?" Luke asked breaking the silence. "Nah, I don't have a date." I said laughing. "No date to senior prom? That's okay, me either." He laughed. "Do the jocks bully you? It's the jocks, right?" I asked. He frowned a little,  "Yeah, but it's fine. I swear." I looked at him weirdly. "No it's not. Being bullied isn't okay, you know it isn't." He looked down at his hands and chuckled a little. "Yeah but we're graduating in a few weeks. I can hold on." He shrugged. "Well, I won't let people bother you. It's not fair, and as my friend, you aren't gonna get put down anymore." I smiled. He smiled in return. "I'm glad I met you at the beach." He said. "I'm glad you weirdly found my house to give me back my necklace." I laughed. "Yeah that was kind of weird...sorry."

I gave him a look. "It was funny." His face flushed a bright pink. "Whatever." He laughed taking his phone out. "The movie's starting!!!" I jumped up like a little girl and squealed. He looked at me with a laugh, and a soft face. I sat back down on the couch and pulled my knees up to my face and wrapped my arms around them. "Damn, you really love this movie, huh?" He laughed extending his arm over the top of the couch. "I love this movie more then I love myself." That remark caused him to laugh hard enough until his voice cracked. "Damn, you're the first person I made laugh that hard in a long time." I laughed. "You're a fun person!" He put his hands up in defense. "Shut up and watch the movie." I laughed and gave all my attention to my tv. "You're cute." He said quietly. I laughed and looked at him then looked back at the tv.

   I heard that, hemmo.
