The next school morning was really boring. It had been almost too hot to even get out of bed. It was nearly 102 degrees, so I pulled out a pair of high waisted black jean shorts, and a white short sleeved, crop top..with sandals. Even though I'm completely breaking the school law by doing so..everyone else including guys were about to break every law..dress wise. So, we don't care. A simple pair of sandals is not gonna keep me home.

I rode my bike to school hoping to get some air, in which I did, and rode extremely fast considering school was a few blocks down. I rode up to the school lot and chained my bike to a post and hopped off. I saw Luke laying on the roof of a car with a pair of sunglasses on, figuring he might be relaxing. Michael stayed home, also considering he never comes to school on hot days like this. He usually stays home in his air conditioned house and play online. Luke's friends were probably inside the school, as was almost everyone. But some girls were out here in their bikini's tanning which was extremely ridiculous because we're at school..not a beach. But we had ten minutes before school started, so they always had time to change.

I walked over to Luke but he didn't see me. I walked up behind him, climbed onto the car he was on, and sat above him. I slowly took off his glasses and laughed as he opened his eyes quickly. "Never fall asleep in the sun with glasses on, are you crazy? Do you wanna have some weird tan line?" He sat up and laughed. "Whoops. Is my hair still okay?" He asked looking at his phone's camera and fixing his swirly hair. "Now it is." I said hopping off his car. "Are your friends here?" I asked. "Nah, they stayed home." Which gave me an idea. "Wanna ditch?" I asked. "Wouldn't your mom be worried?" He asked. "My mom's not home. And my dad moved out." I said grabbing his hands and running towards my bike. "Where are we gonna go?" He asked unchaining his bike. "The beach. Our beach." I said unchaining my bike also.

We rode side by side in the street. My bike black, his red. We kept trying to make each other swerve and at one point, it worked and I swerved him and made him almost fall off. We got to the beach, rode down onto the sand and threw our bikes down. We ran to the shore and plopped onto the cold wet sand. "It feels like I haven't been here in forever." I said picking up the sand and squeezing it. Luke came and sat in front of me. "This shell looks too pretty for you to throw back. Keep it." He said smiling. This was our thing from the first day we met, 'hey here's a seashell. It's too pretty for me to throw back so take it.' That's how it always was and that's how it'll always be. I took the shell from his hand and put it in my pocket. "Here's one for you too." I said cheesing and giving him a slightly cracked purple shell. "I don't want it." He said pushing my hand away slowly. "Why not?" I frowned. "Because, it's only special if I give you the shells."

I admit that made very happy and very flattered.."Thank you." I smiled. "So what is it with you and shells? You seem to have a new one everyday for me." I said. "Well, this beach has a lot of pretty shells. You're a pretty girl. Pretty girls deserve pretty things..so I give you a seashell every day, to remind you of you're beauty and self worth." He said blushing and looking away. I couldn't help but sit there and just cheese and blush hard. "That was the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me." I said smiling.

"Yeah well..it's true."
