fifty one

  Today consisted of Calum taking me on a carriage ride around the city. I didn't realize, I've never realized how beautiful New York can be during the morning, and night. Calum took me to burger king and then we just walked around the city. We haven't been interrupted with any calls concerning Luke, but it doesn't mean my baby hasn't been flowing around my mind all day. Today was just a nice breezy day and I was trying not to let anything ruin it.

     "I wonder what everyone here is going through. You know what I mean?" I asked walking side by side with Cal. "Everyone has their own problems. Ours happens to be life threatening for someone we care about. That lady over there might have someone in her family dying..we never know." He said. He stuck his arm into mine and we walked. "I don't wanna go home. It's so nice here." I sighed. "Wanna get dinner? It's like 5." He said guiding me into a restaurant. "I have no choice now!" I laughed.

    We finished eating at Applebees at around 6:30 and after we finished eating, him and I went into Central Park and fed some birds. "Luke would've loved this." I said. "He would've been scared for a bird to land on his hand. He would think it would bite him." He laughed. I laughed along with him because it sounds almost exactly as to something Luke would do.

Calum and I headed home at approximately 12:23am and we just tumbled into bed. I fell asleep first, then came along Calum considering nothing good on tv to watch.

    I was awoke by another blistering loud chiming..so I looked over and saw my phone was ringing. This time, a number I didn't recognize. And I was sure to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't in a dream. I clicked 'answer' and spoke through. "Hello?" I said jittery. "Hello, this is Edgewood hospital calling. May we please speak to, Lily Robinson?" The woman said. "This is she..." I spoke quitely. Calum sat up, looked at me confused. "This is the Luke's nurse, I'm sure you're aware?" She asked. "I'm aware..what happened?" I teared up. "Luke woke up." She said. I dropped the phone in shock on the bed and started crying. "WHAT HAPPENED? HELLO, WHAT HAPPENED?" Calum spoke through. "Luke woke up!!" She said excitedly. "HOLY FUCK." Calum hung up and gave me the tightest hug he ever gave me. "FUCK NEW YORK. WE NEED TO GO BACK TO FLORIDA." I yelled. I got up, crying, picking clothes off the floor and throwing them into the suitcase. "HOLY SHIT, UH, WHAT DO WE DO?" Calum said jumping off the bed too. "GET THE SHIT READY, OH MY GOD I CAN'T BELIEVE IT." I screamed happily. I zipped up our bags and Calum and I ran out of the hotel in our pajamas.

  We eventually cancelled the rest of the trip and got a trip back home.

    ......I'm gonna see my babyboy.
