"Doc? are you alright?"
Gift ask him worriedly, making him look at his companions. all of them mirrors Gift's reaction. Wendell on the other hand is now caressing Cocobutter's fur. Xander sighed.
"I'm sorry, guys. I got lost in the moment." he said, then put up a smile. "uhm, I'm sorry too, Doctor Wen. is he alright?"
Wendell smiled and nodded.
"He's fine, Doc. hindi naman sya makakatakbo ng malayo, he still has his leash on." Wendell said. "how about you, Doc? are you okay?"
"y-yes, I'm okay. uhm, let's go? we still have to eat lunch." he said and lead the way. Chandler walk beside him and the other three followed. when he glanced at his cousin, Xander saw Chandler's raised eyebrow. it seems like he has a lot of explanation to do, dahil alam nyang hindi ito naniniwalang okay lang sya.
as they arrive at their fave restaurant, they chose the sushi and meat hotpot buffet that the restaurant offered them. si Cocobutter naman, may sariling bowl with both dry and wet food from Royal Furs. they're enjoying the sumptuous meal as they have a very lively and chatty conversation, seasoned with Chandler's corny jokes and pick-up lines. they're full afterwards and decided to take a walk back to the hospital, since it's just a short distance walk.
they're at the lobby and ready to part ways to be back on duty in their departments when Gift called someone Xander didn't expected to see that day....
"Kuya Gabe!"
Gift ran to the tall guy wearing a dark blue jeans and a black leather jacket. yumakap dito ang dalaga, while Gabriel put an arm around his sister's waist. Xander, on the other hand just stand there and watched the siblings from afar---his heart thumping loudly. He suddenly missed the way Gabriel would hug his waist like that.
"woah. Kuya? that hotshot is Gift's brother?" Jade gushed, looking with admiration at his assistant's sibling. "gosh, ang gwapo naman. kung may perfect example man ng tall, dark and handsome---sya na yun! Oh my god, bakit ngayon ko lang nalaman na may ganyang ka-pogi na kapatid si Gift?"
"magtigil ka nga, Jade. may girlfriend yang kapatid ni Gift kaya wag mo ng pagpantasyahan." Chandler said. inirapan lang ito ni Jade, in which Chandler just sniggered.
"but I agree with Jade. He's indeed very good-looking." Wendell said. "yun nga lang, parang bad boy yung dating. I can spot his hoop earrings from here. He looks like Yoo Joonghyuk from ORV."
"ORV? ano naman yan, Doc Wen? movie, series or food?" Chandler ask Wendell, still looking at Gift and her brother. Wendell giggled and playfully hit Chandler's arm.
"puro ka pagkain, Doc. ORV is a manhwa, hindi pagkain o pelikula."
"nah. malay ko ba. hindi ko naman alam kung ano yang tinutukoy mo, Doc." ani Chandler na napasulyap sa Rolex wristwatch nito. "I have to go, I'll go ahead of you. may rounds pa ko ngayon at consultations. see you, guys."
Chandler get in the elevator. sumunod din dito si Jade at Wendell, so Xander is left there on his own, waiting for Gift. pwede naman syang mauna sa opisina nya ngunit tila napako ang kanyang mga paa sa sahig, unable to take his eyes off Gabriel.
his heart then skip a beat when Gabriel look at his direction and turned away immediately. maya-maya pa, Gift walk towards him and Gabriel go on his way with his friend, Luke. He didn't even look back at Xander again.
"let's go, Doc. sorry po at pinaghintay ko kayo." Gift said.
"uhm... k-kumusta na nga pala ang Kuya mo, Gift? Is he... okay now, or masakit pa rin ang katawan nya?"
