You live your whole life in anticipation of my arrival, your greatest rival, if you encounter me, don't bank on your survival
From a young age, you're taught to fear me, whenever I'm mentioned in a sentence, your thoughts are eerie
I can strike whenever I feel you're ready, wether that be when you're walking upstairs with something heavy or laid in bed hugging your teddy
I'm mentioned in every newspaper you've ever read, I'm associated with red but I prefer black instead, I'm always in your head, wether you're shopping for bread or taking your morning meds, I'm the very reason you'll someday wind up dead
I'm sometimes represented by demons and Gods, but unlike otherworldly beings, I'm real with 100% odds
If you applied for an appointment with me via suicide then I do abide, if the voices tell you to do it, I'll meet any who obligee
I'm the fear in the pit of your stomach when your brain is a little bit flummoxed and you can't get it unstuck
I'm beyond the veil, when you're weak and frail, I'm the only thing you ever think about when you inhale, I'm the only thing you think about if you're impaled, I'm the thing you fear most if you've got life in jail
I could strike while you're driving your car or while you're kicking back shots at your local bar, I'll ruin those close to you and those that are afar, I'm the last thought of a burning man before he chars, I'm involved in the story of someone explaining their scars, I'm the thing you wish against when you wish upon a star, I'm the endgame for a jumper when their body hits the tar
I'm the reason people fear heights and swimming, whenever they give you a fright, I'm grinning, if we ever got into a fight I'm winning, you think I'm all bark? You ain't ready for the bite I'm bringing
You think of me whenever you catch a disease or you need to replace a kidney, I'll take both them and their kid with ease when they say dumb shit like "take me instead but please let the kid be"
While you're sobbing and mourning every evening and morning, I'm sitting here yawning, your sad lives are so boring until I come calling, it's appalling how in movies, when I begin dawning the weather begins storming, I'm just doing my job, is there any need for this symbolic mauling?
I'm the only certainty in life aside from taxes, I'm all you think about when being chased with axes, I'm often the result of someone using tools forged by black smiths, I'm the potential side effect of the drugs you infuse crack with
On your darkest days I'm a viable option, you might try stage me with a buyable prop gun, or maybe you blame it on a liable doctrine
Whether it's being poisoned by a chef or overdosing on meth, once you've drawn your final breath, you'll finally meet me because I'm death!
