013. LET IT ALL OUT

Chapter thirteen

"Let it all out."

But later Maddie was asked to meet Tek Knight in the auditorium for a part of his show that he was doing on what had occurred recently on campus as she walked in, she furrowed her brows wondering if it was a separate thing or if the other's were gonna be here too but it seemed to be just her "Madison! Sweetheart, number two and now number one!" Tek Knight voiced as Maddie turned to him "need any touch up's before we go?" Tek Knight asked, as Maddie walked over, women walked up to her and began putting makeup on her face which made her jump back having not expected it.

As she then sat down in the chair across from Tek, he was seemed to be doing this vocal exercises "me, may, my, moe, moo." he said, looking to Maddie "do you..do you do vocal exercises?" he asked her "no not really." Maddie told him, as Tek looked away from her and at the camera holding his hands up "Roy, is this my frame? Yeah?" he asked, bringing his hands down and clearing his throat "theophilus, thistle, baby bees bravely buzzing around the bouyant buoy, bouyant buoy. Lights." he then said as the lights in the room went down and he looked into the camera "I'll give the count. Five, four, three.." he was saying as he brought down each finger going silent at two.

He then looked to Madison "to understand Golden Boys carnage, we first must understand the man. And she may have not been his best friend or his girlfriend but Madison Amsel or what everyone at school including Golden boy seems to call her, Maddie, joining us now. Well, let me start with the big question, because word on the street is that he not only texted you telling him to meet him at Brink's office potentially prior to committing the act but even after he seemed to just be looking for you, wanting to keep you safe while anyone else who was in his way became fair game, why?" he asked.

And as he did, Maddie shook her head "I don't know, I, um..I asked him dozens of times to tell me what was wrong yet he wouldn't answer and just..just kept getting more angry when people tried to keep me away from him." she shared "like Marie and Jordan Li?" Tek asked her, as Maddie nodded "yeah." she told him, taking a deep breath "I'm sorry this is just.." she was saying as Tek nodded "a lot? I bet. I mean not only did you lose, Brink, who had been teaching you since the beginning but Luke was your close friend, protected you, kept you safe like a big brother, am I right?" he asked.

But as he did, Maddie shrugged "I..I don't know. There was always this unspoken thing." she told him, not feeling ashamed of it, since he was gone now, in which Tek hummed "and that must've been why in the state he was in the only person he knew he could go to was you. And when he finally did, you told him not to care about the people overlooking and that all they cared about were views and likes?" he asked, as Maddie scoffed "yeah, because that's all this fucking generation cares about is who's gonna reposted or retweeted." she told him.

"Yes, but then you..you knowing he had a girlfriend blatantly told him that you loved him? Was that in a friendly way or did you mean it more in a romantic way cause as you said earlier there was always an unspoken thing? Was that unspoken thing perhaps a secret relationship? Because when he lunged at you and everyone around you including Marie and Andre thought he was going to burn you to a crisp to, he instead stopped using his powers and kissed you." Tek shared, as Madison took a deep breath "no, Cate was the first and only friend I ever had at god u when I first came here, we were the quiet weird girls that nobody wanted to talk to and I would never do something like that to her and neither would Luke. But I.." she told him, trailing off.

Taking a deep breath "I remember that he was being cryptic like saying how he wanted something different when it came to a relationship and then..and then later on he said that if you wanted to be a hero to make sure to do it for yourself, but I never exactly got to figure out what he meant by all that. And yeah, maybe..maybe he did love me like he said to me while apologizing for what at the time I didn't know...but he told me to stay safe to protect myself and I knew..I knew in my gut that he was saying goodbye and I should've done something to stop him but I didn't want him to freak out again and hurt anybody else." she shared.

"And with all that how did you not know that something was wrong with him?" Tek asked her and as he did, Maddie felt tears welling up in her ear eyes "I..I know if I had more time with him, if..if he hadn't.." she was saying as her voice started breaking "he would've told me." she said, as tears started falling down her face "but now he's gone and it just..it just makes me wanna scream cause I..I can't sleep, I haven't slept every time I close my eyes I see him flying into the sky." she said, her voice coming out shaky, as she quickly brought her hands up, taking the mic off of her "I'm..I'm sorry,  need to go." she told him, standing up and walking out.

Walking out of the auditorium and out of the building, Maddie began walking toward's the edge of campus toward's the woods, heading into them, she began breathing heavy as she stepped far out enough knowing nobody would hear or get hurt, where she soon stopped and as she did, she then closed her eyes and let out a scream sending it across the forest, causing some tree's to rustle and even knowing two of them with the frequency of it, as she felt her knees give out on her, she fell to the forest floor.
