"Sasowee!" you barged into his room, but he was used to that. After a month of living with them, you had grown on the Akatsuki members.
"What is it?" he asked. Right now, Sasori was out of his Hiruko puppet. He had grown tired of hearing you call him 'grandpa' because of his puppet. At first, he hadn't wanted to get out of his puppet, he found no need to it, but he didn't have enough patience with you back then.
"Can I watch you work on puppets?" you asked and clapped your hands together in a pleading manner.
He sighed. "Yes. Just don't mess anything up."
You nodded and sat down beside him. He set to work on a small puppet. It was no larger than a foot. You wondered how he would use this puppet in battle, that was what he used his puppets for anyways. Would he use it to spy?
Sasori continued to edge the puppet's body. He attached chakra strings to it and made it walk around to see if there were any flaws. You got up and walked back a little. Sasori thought you were leaving but didn't do anything to stop you. If you stayed in one place for too long you usually got bored out of your misery.
He felt a small hand pat his head. His eye twitched and his hands stopped their work on the puppet. Sasori slowly turned around and saw you standing there behind him. A smile was plastered on your face and your hand was patting his head. He raised an eyebrow.
"What are you doing, Aiko?" he asked as gently as he could.
"Nice hair," you replied. "Like it."
"Is that so?"
You nodded. "Yep. You has really nice hair."
"First, it's said 'you have really nice hair'. Second, thank you," Sasori told you.
"Oh. Okay then, you have really nice hair," you said correctly this time. Sasori gave you a small smile.
"Come here, sit," he patted the seat next to him. "You'll like this puppet."
You, being the curious child you are, sat down next to him to look at the puppet which he had only just finished. It looked just like you! Your same light brown hair and honey brown eyes. You reached out and gently touched the puppet's hair. Whatever Sasori used for its hair, it was soft and silky. Its face held a gentle smile. Sasori even made it look like a five-year-old to fit your age.
"Would you like to choose what clothing you want it to wear?" Sasori asked. You nodded. "What do you want her to wear?"You thought a moment. After a bit you grabbed the sleeve of Sasori's cloak. "Cloak like this."
"You want her to wear an Akatsuki cloak?" Sasori asked to make sure he understood you correctly. You nodded. "Alright then, let's see what I've got for the cloak."
Sasori got up and headed towards a chest at the foot of his bed. He opened it and threw out several pieces of fabric until he found what he was looking for. Three different colored silk fabrics; black, red, and white. He looked back and forth between the three of them and nodded. After putting the rest of the fabric away, he put the white and red fabric on his bed. Sasori walked over to the table, with the black fabric in hand, and picked up the puppet. He took some measurements of the size of the puppet's body and then cut out the cloak. Afterwards, he stitched it together so it wouldn't fall apart. He tried it on the puppet and it fit perfectly. Next, Sasori got to work on the clouds. Cutting out small red clouds and larger white ones to outline them. He stitched them onto the puppet's cloak, all the while being aware that your eyes were on his every move. You were observant, and you learned fast.
