"Sorry Konan, but I think I'll have to disobey again."

You threw the small butterfly into the air and knew it was going back to Konan, unless it was Konan herself that had dispersed into the butterflies. Right now, you had to go find that man. You followed a lot of paper that was flying in a certain direction. It was Konan, no doubt about it. This was her chakra. You jumped down and landed on a small ledge and looked down at a man with brown hair and darker brown beard. He wore his headband as a bandana, a blue shirt, sandy/vanilla colored scarf, and dark grey pants. The papers flew at him and stuck onto his body, preventing him from moving.

"Wait!" you called out. A fireball flew out of nowhere and aimed straight at Konan. Your eyes widened but she moved out of the way. You sighed and looked on, but you were too high up to hear much of their conversation and you wanted to reserve chakra in case it was needed. The man you had been trailing earlier came out of the other man's shadow and began speaking to Konan. You caught little things like 'Pein', 'catch you', and 'Konan'. Whoever this man was, he knew Konan. That made it even more difficult to figure out who he was and where you knew him from.

The other man looked up, wide eyed, and stared at Konan. "It's really you! You're the messenger, Lady Angel!"

"First a god now an Angel," the old man said loud enough for you to hear. "Which means that you're the messenger for this so-called god, is that right Konan?"

You jumped down a little more and landed closer to them.

"This man is an intruder!" the brown haired man said. He got up and ran away from the old man. "You should kill him now!"

"Leave now and stay away," Konan ordered.

"Yes ma'am," the man replied and ran away.

"The same goes for you," Konan said and you knew it was directed to you.

"Konan," you protested lowly.

"I told you to go," she interrupted and continued in a whisper so only you could hear. "He will be here soon."

You bit your lip.

"So who is this 'Pein'?"

"It's really none of your business sensei," Konan answered as she floated upwards. Sensei? You thought. He was her sensei? Then that means... he was Leader's sensei too, right? Paper wings appeared on Konan's back and the man made rude remarks about it. You clenched your teeth. Sensei or not, he had no right to insult someone, even if that someone was his student at one point. Paper from the wings shot toward the old man but he used a fire jutsu. The paper kept on going and soon he had to jump out of the way. Some sort of oil came out of his mouth and shot towards Konan. She covered her face with the sleeve of her cloak but the oil still got her.

"Konan!" you called out as the man made a hand sign and his hair stretched to wrap around Konan. You took a step forward.

"Stop!" Konan ordered in harsh tone and glared back at you. "Go now!"

You shook your head. "No Konan, I'm not leaving!"

"Aiko," she whispered. "Please go."

The man seemed to finally notice your existence but he continued to talk to Konan. "... You were the kindest and gentlest of the children that I trained," he paused a second. "What happened to the others? Nagato and Yahiko. I heard you all died, but I guess that was a rumor," he paused once more, waiting for Konan to reply but she remained silent. "Oh I see, so which one of the other two ended up becoming this 'Pein' then?"
