"So, what'd you say now?" He threatened subtly, and I was lost in the trance, just staring at the tattoo.
I suddenly was able to recall something.
I never expected my home to be invaded like it did just then, I knew the risks of being in a mafia group. I knew the caution I had to take with everything I did.
I just never expected this.
My brother shielded me, dragging me into an emergency room, designed just for situations like this. Gunshots, shouting, yelling, screaming, crashing was heard everywhere, each voice echoed through every hall.
I was scared for my life, shaking and feeling as if I was going to throw up all my organs on the spot.
Me and my brother were in the hideout, trying to ignore what had just happened.
One of the most infamous mafia clans had just broken into our house, attacking the men and trying to prove something.
The warfare in the house lasted a little too long, and while my brother wasn't looking, I snuck out, tiptoeing around my house. It was too quiet, uncomfortably quiet for that matter. I made my way upstairs, heading to the corridor near my room, but before I could even make it, I stopped at the hearing of voices.
It was my father and another voice in another corridor. I peered from the edge, a man on the floor, my father pointing a gun directly at him.
They both had blood stains all over them, it was a traumatising sight to see.
"Mura! Shame your son didn't make it, then I could've erased your whole bloodline entirely." My father gave a remorseless laugh, it was one that chilled even me.
The other man on the floor gave another heavy laugh, what was up with these leaders and these scary ass laughs?
"Not a chance, he'll get your daughter and son before anything." He smirked, my father fired a shot, straight into the guy's arms. He let out a groan, holding onto his arm in pain.
I flinched at the gunshot.
"You could only wish. Niki will never make it out in the industry, your boy is too fragile for any of this." My father gave a hearty laugh, cackling coldly, "Ah, real shame he couldn't see his daddy like this."
"Mura lives on forever." The guy pulled up his shirt, revealing a tattoo of 'MURA' printed on his ribcage.
"Mura lives on in hell." My father replied, shooting him several times all over. I covered my eyes at the amount of bullets I heard just go through this guy. I couldn't even tolerate it, I just scurried away out of the house.
It was one of the days that had forever scarred me.
PRESENT DAY
Niki was just on his phone as I completely zoned out.
I snapped back into the situation I was in.
"Park Baekhyeon killed your father." I quietly spoke, and he looked up, a small smile on his face. He crossed his arms, staring at me.
"Your father killed my father. Not only that, he diminished my father's clan to nothing, up until I was legal enough to inherit it." Niki spitefully corrected me, and I grit my teeth.
"I have nothing to do with this mafia industry, nor do I want anything to do with it. I'm long gone. Baekhyeon disowned me." My lip curled at Niki calling Baekhyeon my father.
"I know he threw you away, that's why I want you so badly." He chuckled cunningly, walking behind me and untying the ropes on my wrists.
As my wrists were set free, I immediately rubbed them, who knew it'd be this painful. I thought over his words, I'd be a backstabber to my own family if I married Niki, though they disowned me, my brother was involved.
"I want nothing to do with anything mafia related." I assertively told him, crossing my arms. Wow, it felt like a privilege to be able to do that.
Niki gave a quick laugh, looking at me.
"You ask for a lot." Niki looked around, pressing his lips together as he thought, "All I need from you is to marry me."
"What if I don't?" I persisted, seriously, as good looking as this guy was, I wanted nothing to do with any mafia business, that was a past I refuse to come back to.
"I have hitmen on speedial, I know where Heejin lives, where Miyeon and Aeyoung live, can't forget Joyeon too." He listed all of my closest friends, without any heart at all.
I stared at him, utter disgust from the words that just came from his mouth. I couldn't believe that me sitting beside a guy in a club brought me to a life or death situation right now.
"You seriously have no heart, hm?" I rolled my eyes, coldly replying to him. He raised an eyebrow.
"I'll give you an hour to decide, just remember what lies at stake. I'm not asking for a child from you. I'm asking for a marriage, as stated on our bet." Niki reiterated again, "I'll be back soon."
