THREE WEEKS LATER
The official marriage ceremony between me and Niki came closer by the days. And strangely, I found myself not complaining, but I was still nervous.
Things between us became more intimate, closer and very weird.
"Where you heading?" I asked, looking up at Niki who seemed pretty mad, judging by his furrowed eyebrows and stoic expression.
"Somewhere. Be back soon." He didn't elaborate whatsoever, the slamming of the door and the roaring of his car engine giving me a reply instead.
I rolled my eyes, groaning at his vagueness. It actually killed me not knowing what he was doing. He'd usually tell me, but there were occasions that he didn't.
I received a text from my brother. It was a single sentence, very daunting and confusing.
p.mjae: meet me, we need to talk
I crossed my brows, wondering what's going on now. Nonetheless, I went to get changed, heading out after I was ready.
I drove to the place we were supposed to meet at, it was a rather isolated place again, not as bad as the ballroom but somewhat away from civilisation.
I entered, looking around for Minjae. He was there, sat on a table alone, oh, he looked serious too. I sat before him, his head perking up to look at me, he didn't crack a single inch of a smile.
"What'd you call me here for?" I asked him, wondering what possibly could be so serious.
"You're getting married to Niki Nishimura?" He uttered the words I wish he didn't. I was taken aback, wondering how he'd figured out.
"Yeah." I bluntly responded, folding my arms and looking around the empty place, just in case.
"You know this is betrayal." He gently - but loudly - slammed his palms on the table, and I merely scoffed in his face.
"I'm not part of your clan anymore. Get that in your head." I stared at him coldly as he seemed to get more frustrated with me.
"You have the surname Park, no matter what, you are always a legitimate member." Minjae explained, clenching his fists as he stared at me with fire burning through his eyes.
"Not for long." I gave a short laugh, looking to the side and then back at Minjae. He shook his head in disapproval lightly.
"You should be aware of Baekhyeon. He's severely displeased by your betrayal." All Minjae could do was sigh, "Nishimura is his top enemy. When he found out that you were marrying the leader, he almost went batshit crazy."
"I think he forgot he disowned me." I scoffed bitterly, rolling my eyes, "anyways. I'm done here." I stood up, about to head out when Minjae stopped me.
"You're different now." He looked down for a second, swallowing hard, "Be safe."
I nodded my head nonchalantly, heading out and getting back in my car. Seriously, what did my father think I would do when he disowned me.
He should've expected something like this coming. Despite the very spontaneous occurrence between me and Niki, he should've really seen something along the lines of this bound to happen.
I suppose it's a way of karma.
Nonetheless, I head to the city once more, driving to a cafe to see the girls. I looked at the compartment of the car, noticing it had Niki's gun sat in it. Did he forget it in here or something?
I took the gun, tucking it in my coat pocket and continuing the drive over. As I parked the car, I noticed Heejin entering the cafe. Immediately, I sprung out, heading over towards the cafe and inside.
They were all sat around a table, and as I walked in, they all squealed, jumping to hug me and smile.
"Where you been girl!?" Joyeon inquired, staring at me eagerly.
"Ah, you know, just very busy." I chuckled, trying to not seem suspicious at all.
"She's definitely up to no good." Miyeon laughed at me, "Tell us, who's the guy?"
I felt a little astonished at her quickness at guessing aspects of my life. I didn't tell them about Niki at all, they didn't even know he existed.
The four of them beamed at me, dying with anticipation and curiosity about what's going in my life. I gave a short laugh, unsure of what to really respond with.
"There is no guy." I chuckled nervously, "I just met with my brother." I told them, and their excited faces returned to boredom, staring at me with disappointment.
All they knew about my family life was that I barely saw any of them and how I was kicked out at eighteen, nothing more, nothing less.
"Who am I kidding, there's no guy." Miyeon rolled her eyes, "If you ever have doubts about being unmarried for the rest of your life, don't worry, Yuri will always beat you in that game."
Oh but little did she know.
Regardless of her pretty insulting comment, I laughed along, just wondering how they'd react if I were to tell them that I was getting married pretty soon enough.
