The day after, I made sure that the ring stayed on everywhere. It never failed to amaze me, everytime I just looked at it, it really struck me into awe.
The girls had arranged some plans again, so, I changed and prepared myself, heading down.
To my surprise, Niki had some close friends over, seemingly from the same clan. They all greeted me with a respectful bow as I gave a small smile.
I grabbed some car keys, about to head out, Niki grabbed my hand lightly, spinning me around.
"Where you off to? Better not be salad guy." Niki groaned, but looking all over my face.
"You are never gonna let me live that down." I chuckled at his pettiness still, "I'm going with the girls for wedding preparation. For Heejin." I clarified it was for Heejin, just incase he thought I seriously invited my law-abiding friends to a mafia wedding.
"Text me the address, hm?" His thumb traced my cheek as he looked at my lips, distracted clearly.
"Wow, what's up with you." I rolled my eyes with a smile, liking this treatment he's giving me, "I will, I'm off though." I smiled as he nodded, waving me off.
I made my way to the place, it was a pretty luxurious restaurant. I was one of the last ones again, if only Niki's house wasn't in some goddamn random ass place nobody knows about.
We all ordered food, and over the food, we discussed plans for the theme of Heejin's wedding, who'll have which role and whatnot.
"You know what, I think like a mafia themed wedding would be so cool. You know? Like all black and shit." Joyeon jumped in her seat as the rest of them smiled, agreeing eagerly.
I stayed silent, not wanting to say anything about this topic.
"All black though? Seriously? I wanted the traditional white wedding." Heejin groaned, "But being a mafia seems pretty cool too." She thought for a while, and I felt a little uncomfortable.
What was going on? Did they know something I didn't?
"What is a mafia wedding in your eyes?" I inquired, wondering what they all thought one looked like.
"Liiike, you know, everybody looks mysterious, black suits, black dresses for the guests, maybe the bride is the only one with a white dress. Then like, a really eerie but cool food theme, decor, you get me?" Aeyoung added, and I raised my eyebrows lightly, nodding my head gently.
I tried my best to sound unexperienced okay? I knew what a mafia wedding looked like, and to be honest, it wasn't really anything like they said.
Mafia weddings between two big clans were typically very lavish and over the top, obviously if they wanted, they could have black dresses, but normally it was just a traditional white dress along with a certain colour theme.
"I actually might consider that theme." Heejin nodded, typing on her phone, "Instead of black dresses though, I think I'll go for light blue. Actually, scrap the mafia theme, I wanna do something light and cute."
I nodded my head to this one, this was something I could get onboard with.
"Definitely better than the mafia theme." I quickly interject, they all looked at me weirdly.
"Wow, you could've just disagreed with me from the start if you were that eager to get rid of that theme." Joyeon rolled her eyes playfully as we all thought of more things to add to her wedding.
Around an hour in, everything was going pretty well and the theme was decided. Suddenly, all their eyes locked onto my sparkling diamond ring as I showed my nails to the girls.
"Engaged? To who? Bill Gates?!" Joyeon grabbed my hand, inspecting the ring as they all looked very closely, mesmerised.
"Yeah, and to think you all doubted me." I flipped my hair behind my shoulder, pretending to be offended by their previous remarks.
"No seriously, are you actually engaged? What the fuck? That ring probably costs like two hundred thousand dollars." Heejin inspected every corner of the diamonds, "Look how clear and pure the diamond is, holy shit Yuri."
I swallowed hard, yeah it was nice, but what was I supposed to say now?
"That's why you were acting so weird. Oh my fucking god, I can't believe this." Aeyoung covered her mouth, they were all amazed by my ring.
Thank you Niki.
"Who the fuck is this guy and does he have a brother?" Joyeon was basically drooling over my ring, not letting go of my hand and intently staring at it.
"I.. don't actually think he has a brother." I chuckled, come to think of it, I didn't even know if he had a brother, I knew he had a sister.
"I need to see this man seriously, I don't even believe you right now." Miyeon was in awe, taking a picture of my hand.
Speaking of which, a voice caused all of us to look up.
