An older man stood up from one side of the table, he greeted Niki, shaking hands firmly with a small smile. Niki didn't give a single smile, matter of fact, his lips didn't even budge a single centimetre.

"Nishimura. Very nice to meet you, I have been waiting to meet you for a while now." He gave a bow of respect as Niki nodded his head, damn, the power Niki had over everyone here was kinda hot.

"Indeed." Niki bluntly spoke, how come he was being so blunt to him right now? He looked over at me, then back at the guy, "This is my wife, Yuri."

The man widened his eyes slightly, eyebrows raised. He glanced at me, then at Niki.

"Wife? Since.. when?" He stuttered, as I fixated my glare onto him.

"For a while now, nice to meet you." I bowed my head gently, not cracking a smile either.

"Good.. to meet you too. Leader of Yeongsang clan. Kae Haneul." He gave a respectful bow, just as he did to Niki and I nodded my head in approval.

We sat on the table with everyone else, Niki sat at the head of the table, opposite Haneul. I sat on the side near him, opposite me was Haneul's daughter, Yerin.

She seemed to give me a glare from across the table, and I didn't even decide to retaliate, she was not about to kill the good day I was having so far.

The dinner was rather awkward, for me anyways, it was more of a business thing, talking about some stupid ass shit I didn't even listen to.

Though, throughout the entire dinner, Yerin kept trying to hit on Niki, occasionally glaring at me back and forth. God, what does this girl really want from me. I am not about to start a fight here.

I excused myself to go to the bathroom, trying to navigate my way round this huge palace-like place, seriously, I found the bathroom about five minutes later.

I didn't even need the bathroom, I just stood in there and ran my hands under the cold water for a while, trying to avoid the high tension on the table along with the awkwardness. I swallowed hard, thinking what Yerin could possibly be doing with Niki now that I'm gone.

For some reason, I found myself mad over that girl. Seriously, I was frustrated by her actions. Like, what does she not understand about me being Niki's wife, not his girlfriend, his wife. Not lawfully wedded yet, but soon.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror, astonished by the jealousy pacing through my head right now. No way I was jealous over Niki right now, I laughed at myself, I probably looked insane right now.

As I collected my thoughts, I slowly made my way out of the bathroom, trying to find my way back to the table. But before I made it, I overheard Niki speaking to Haneul.

I paused, overhearing the conversation out of curiosity. I clearly have never heard of the idiom 'curiosity kills.'

"Niki, I'm begging you, marry my daughter instead." Haneul clasped his hands together in front of Niki. He simply stared Haneul down coldly.

"Haneul, I have a wife, save your face." Niki told him, refusing immediately, my heart started to beat faster, was he actually going to join forces with Yeongsang and marry his daughter instead?

"Please, I'll do anything. I'll give you ownership of my clan as long as you marry Yerin. Nishimura, your current wife gives you no status or power, you will have my clan if you just marry Yerin." He pleaded, rubbing his hands together in a begging manner.

Niki glared at Haneul, shooting daggers through his eyes towards him. I was a little worried, that he'd take the power and authority over me. I mean, I know we were contract only based relationship, but it'd still hurt if he did.

"Haneul. I don't love your daughter." Niki responded, his voice lacking any warmth or feeling.

"You don't have to. Nishimura. I'm begging you right now." He had the audacity to get on his knees, "You don't need to marry Yerin, you are the best candidate, the strongest clan, amongst Park's Clan. Imagine, if my clan and yours merge, we'll take down Park."

"Your wife, she is very beautiful, I see why you love her, but she doesn't bring you any authority or power, you know as one of the strongest leaders that power and clan strength is the most important." Haneul added, and I felt genuinely offended, my mouth slightly agape.

"My wife is Park Baekhyeon's daughter. I feel as if she gives me enough power solely being by my side every morning. Keep your begging aside and never insult my wife like that again." Niki had the final word, storming off.

I covered my mouth, a huge smile painted right on my face. I don't know how he just did that, but that made me officially attracted to him.
