I spun on the chair, staring at his annoyed expression, glaring at me.

"I've come in here many times." I told him, a small smirk forming on my face as his didn't budge a single bit.

"I told you not to. You should listen to me." Niki bluntly replied, and I groaned, rolling my eyes at his persistence with his stupid little cold act.

"Don't make me laugh." I scoffed, I should listen to him? No way, that's just like a servant, and one thing I'm not, is someone's worker.

He didn't say anything else, just continued typing on his computer, focusing clearly.

"What's up with you?" I finally inquired, I just hope he'd give me an answer. He was silent for a bit, still looking on his computer, and just until I thought he was blatantly ignoring me, he finally responded.

"Fuck." He groaned, leaning his head back, his neck and jaw ever so defined. He looked back at his monitors, then glanced at me, twice.

I was still waiting for an answer.

"Alliance dinner. The leader of another clan wants me to meet with his daughter and his men for an alliance of clans." Niki groaned lightly, rubbing his face and running his fingers through his hair.

"So? What's so bad about that." I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion, was this guy a baby or what?

"Do you not know what this means??" He looked at me serious, "That man wants me to marry his daughter. I already have a wife." He broke eye contact with me before he said that he already has a wife.

I pressed my lips together and clenched my jaw, ensuring a smile will absolutely not peer out right now.

"I'll tag along to a dinner." I offered, crossing one leg over the other. He stopped typing, then looked at me, raising a brow in interest.

"You down?" He asked, "It's a pretty big event, and it's not just our clan, it's a few of them." Niki looked at me, but all I could focus on was the way he said that the clan was 'ours'.

My heart fluttered gently, what the hell was going on with me recently.

"You're acting as if I've never been to an event like that." I rolled my eyes, staring him in the eyes as he returned my gesture, "Just get me an outfit and I'll be the perfect wife." I told him, crossing my arms as he ran his tongue over his teeth.

He gave me a look, another one of his seriously killer looks. One so alluring.

"I'll get it sorted right now. It's later at night, so, go for a nap if you need." He told me, his shoulders seemingly relaxing and the entire atmosphere of the room somewhat easing down.

I nodded my head, standing up and about to head out, before I walked out, Niki called for my name.

"Yuri." He spoke, his tone deep but different.

I spun around, looking at him, wondering what he'd want.

"Hm?" I looked at his sparkling eyes, I don't know if it was just me, but for some reason Niki was beginning to grow on me.

"I'm so glad I chose you." He randomly blurt, his voice was sincere though, I froze for a second, my brain and body trying to process what he just said to me. He went straight back to working after he said that, and I just looked like an idiot, standing there in confusion for a few seconds.

I grabbed ahold of myself and left, shutting the door behind me. I leant against it, placing my hand on my chest, for some reason, rapidly beating.

His compliment just sat well in my heart, and it made me feel almost excited. I don't know what this feeling was, just hearing him feel glad that I was the woman he picked.

It was actually unbelievable how I felt right now, it was as if I was blessed from the world itself. I held my palm against my heart, feeling the prominent beating it gave out in a fast pace.

Not only that, but a grin swept across my face, and my neck felt a little hot. As soon as I realised what my body was doing, I shook myself free of this feeling.

What the fuck was I doing right now?
