Niki had fully fell unconscious, his head hung low, not moving. The sight of him like this pained me straight in my heart.
I swallowed hard.
"Do you remember the day you shot your first gun?" Baekhyeon started to waffle on, and I figured, if I could just get him to speak nonsense for a good while, then I could quickly shoot him in his arm which would make him drop his gun.
"No, when did I?" I played along, obviously I knew these stupid things, I knew when I shot my first gun, saw my first murder, and so on.
"Hah, it was when you were merely 7 years old. I remember it clearly, you somehow managed to shoot the moving target straight in the centre, and I was so proud of you that I framed the gun." Baekhyeon reminisced, at this point, he seemed like a good guy, "From that day I knew you'd suit the Park Clan so much."
"Is that so?" I tried to ask questions majorly, lowering my gun to show vulnerability. He seemed to be focusing more on the past, his hand ever so slowly lowering the gun from Niki's head.
"Yeah. Then as you started to grow up, I noticed that you stopped practicing so much. I wondered why." He gave a sigh, shaking his head, "And then you came up with that bizarre expression that you refused to kill anyone because it's immoral."
"Oh yeah, that was stupid." I tried my best to sound interested in his conversation, just waiting for that feeling that'd tell me it was the best moment to attack.
"It really was, as a father, I felt like the most helpless person in the world. I didn't know what to do with you at that point, it seriously broke me knowing my only daughter wouldn't want to endorse in our lifestyle." Baekhyeon looked up, he seemed a little sorrowful at the memory, "Then I found that it'd be less painful if I just never saw you again."
"How so?" I inquired, quietly clocking my gun and waiting for the moment to strike. It'd be somewhere near here where he's barely focusing on what's going on - instead, he's more focused on remembering.
"Minjae was a disappointment, he couldn't even shoot a target accurately at the age of 16, but you? You were special. I thought if I stopped seeing you completely, I'd manage to focus on turning Minjae into the person you were." He gave a sigh, a pained expression on his face.
"You know what I think..?" I was building up the sad tension here, he looked up at me, hope present in his eyes.
"What do you say Yuri?" A small smile appearing on his face, and for a second, I felt a little guilt. But then seeing Niki in this state, and all the previous attacks, all guilt dissolved from my body completely.
My blood ran cold with bitterness and revenge.
"I feel that we should probably try again." I sighed, he gave a smile, heading closer to me with a proud look on his face. In this moment, I quickly shot him in the arm, leg, chest. He fell to the floor in agony, unable to even move, "In fucking hell."
"YOU." Was the only thing he could say, but even from the singular word, I could tell he was surpassing the levels of rage, it was raw, fiery furiosity.
I looked down at his face, still conscious. A vein was almost about to pop out of his head.
"You're a fool for trusting someone like me. It's been a few years Baekhyeon, don't you think I've changed?" I spoke to him in a very condescending manner.
His face was turning red, then purple as he stared at me, rage and loathe foaming from his mouth. He was slowly dying, and just to ensure he was seriously dead, I shot him directly in the neck, that was one place that could instantly kill someone if you hit them in the right spot.
I gave a sigh, untying Niki's wrists from the chair. I crouched down, looking at his cold face. I rubbed his hair, hoping he'd be just okay.
And with that, I grabbed my phone from my pocket, dialling for his men to come and clear and assist the scene. I called for a mafia medic, I stayed with Niki up until the medics took him away.
As they took him away, I stepped outside of the villa, inhaling the fresh air and trying to clear my mind. My clothes were irreparably stained with blood, I felt nothing in the moment, it just felt surreal that I had to kill my own father, almost see my husband die, kill some other men and get backstabbed by my own brother.
Goddamn, this mafia thing was harder than I anticipated.
