"What do you want to do this weekend?"

I looked up from my gross school burger to look at Haley's beautiful blue eyes. I've known Haley since the 5th grade. She was blonde with gorgeous blue eyes. If you look close enough you can see a snow flake in both of them. Freckles were sprinkled across her face. She was a few inches taller than me so she towered over me. She was my best friend.

"I don't know. There really isn't anything to do here in Belmont."

What I said was true. The small town of Belmont really couldn't entertain us teenagers anymore. Us being seniors, we still had a year to go in Belmont before we could head off and explore some more.

"We could always go to the movies," Haley suggested, taking a bite of buttered noodles. I shrugged.

"Hi guys!"

I turned to see my other friend Nathan walking towards us with a tray full of food. Nathan was tall and pale, his hair always changing colors. Right now it was a bright color red. He had these amazing forest green eyes, a smile that could light up a dark room, and a laugh that was super adorable. He was like a brother to me, but Haley thought otherwise. She has had a major crush on him since the 6th grade and has yet to come clean.

"You guys weren't making plans with out me were you?" he asked, taking a seat next to me and jabbing his elbow into my arm.

"Of course not! How could we forget about you?" I said in reply, poking him in the side and making him squirm.

"Don't do that! You know in ticklish!" Nathan said with a mouth full of food. He batted my hand away, taking another bite of his burger.

"Seriously Nathan I don't understand how you can enjoy eating the school's food." Haley said, making a disgusted look on her face as Nathan scarfed down his food.

"Food is food, and I love food." Nathan said, taking a sip of his chocolate milk. It was probably the only good thing that comes out of getting school lunch. I shook my head, laughing at my two friends.

"Anyways, so what should we go see?" I asked, looking from Haley to Nathan. Haley shrugged.

"We should see that new horror movie!" Nathan suggested, practically giggling in excitement.

"I guess we could. What do you think Haley?"

She hesitated for a moment. She hated horror movies. I winked at her, hoping she would get what I was trying to get at. Haley grinned a little.

"Yea, a horror movie sounds good."

Nathan almost jumped out of his seat and squealed in excitement.

"Yes! Alright! Hey, would you mind if one of my friends came along? He's new in town., but I've known him for years. He's a cool dude, you'd like him."

I shrugged, " I don't see why he couldn't tag along. I bet he would like to have some friends, being new and all." Haley nodded in agreement.

"Sweet! Well I'll see you two sexy ladies later." Nathan said, winking at Haley before walking away and out of the lunch room.

"Oh my gosh! Did you see that?!" Haley gushed once Nathan was out of hearing range.

I nodded, rolling my eyes.

"When will you come clean to him? I mean it's obvious you two like each other."

Haley gasped, "Is it really that obvious?"

I nodded.

Haley bit her lip in deep thought.

"Well maybe tomorrow night we'll both come clean to each other. You know I hate horror movies."

"That's why I thought it would be perfect! You two could sit next to each other and he could protect you."

Haley laughed, rolling her eyes.

"When will you stop with the match making and find yourself a guy for once?"

I shrugged. I've never been in a relationship before. I've had crushes, but never a boyfriend. I'm mostly invisible to all the guys here in school, which is fine because they're all snobs.

"Hey, Bay, earth to Bay, hello? Stop day dreaming and let's go before we're late."

I stood up. Walking with Haley down the hall. I have no intentions of falling in love. Not yet. No one gets me other than Nathan and Haley, but they were only my friends. Besides none of these boys wouldn't really be made for me. They were all to preppy. None were laid back, or relaxed, or anything. I really had no real feelings towards them. I shrugged to my self. Taking a seat next to Haley in our history class. I looked at her.

"I don't want to fall in love. It actually scares me."

I wasn't lying. My mom fell in love with my father. My father fell in love with my mom. I've never seen two people more in love. It was so heart breaking when we got the news that my father was in a plane crash. I thought my mother was going to kill herself, she was so devastated. I didn't want that. I didn't want that feeling. I couldn't imagine.

Haley shook her head. "You're gonna fall in love one day Bay. And you're not going to be able to run away from it."

I opened my mouth to talk back to her when the teacher started class. I closed my mouth and turned to look at the front.

Maybe Haley was right. Maybe I won't be able to run from my feelings one day. That scared me. I pushed that thought to the back of my mind, and focused on the teacher.
